No. Although the Ferians and Ringers are friendly with each other, relations with Ringers and other Ferian hives are not impacted negatively. I hope it stays that way. I cannot stand the Ferian bugs: they make mining during the midgame a YASD waiting to happen, slow down level load for an extra seco...

In theory, the best use for Gems of Despair is to use one when you are losing a battle and see no way to escape. For instance, your shields are gone, hull breach is imminent, and the attackers are faster than you. They are like Angband's scrolls of teleport level, if you are familiar with that game....

Destroying a Ferian colony will turn all surviving Ferian miners spawned by that hive hostile against the attacker who destroyed the hive. The wrecked hive will also spawn three additional warrior ships to assist the hostile miners. The potentially huge swarm can overwhelm anyone unprepared for the ...

The positron lancer as it is now is a disappointment. It only has two advantages: low weight and can be powered up to 150% with longzhu spheres. I much rather use the Iocrym Fracture Cannon instead. For a level X weapon, I think the positron lancer needs the following changes: 1) Extend its range to...

If availability is a problem, let Point Juno and maybe CSCs upgrade all the way to 1 gw. Aside from fuel consumption, the only time I really need a 1 gw reactor is when I am loaded with level X devices near the end of the game. Speaking of fuel consumption, I think fuel in general drains way too qui...

Duralloy is not radiation immune. However, the Huari are not too easy to radiate. Cracking Huari shields is difficult, and their slam cannons are painful and are effective at blocking waste cannon shots. My counter-strategy is to activate Domina powers Strengthen and Defend, approach then sit on top...

Ferians are not the only faction vulnerable...
The Huari can be irradiated, then left to die. Such kills do not count against the player. In my current game, I wasted six or seven Huari ships and looted, among other things, three intact 250 mw reactors. Later, when I found this thread, I stopped using the exploit, then blew up my sixth Sung stat...
