Re: So, what am I doing here?
Welcome back Xephyr! As one of the 20 people who actively played your Renegade extension  and really liked it A LOT because it is really good! I was wondering why all of a sudden you left because I felt like you could really make this game even more interesting. So thanks for the explanation. ...

Re: 1.8 Beta 5
Just like the previous beta, it does not download automatically when starting Transcendence. Maybe because I am using Wine? But it was never an issue before....

Re: The connection between part I and II.
It would be nice if you start VoTG to have a choice of finished SoTP games to take the ship layout of that particular game with you. Of course that would imply that most (lategame) items of SoTP must be incorporated in VoTG, or that there is a library dependency for that.

Re: Stacking weapon upgrades fail?
After using a Weapon optimizer ROM no other updates can be applied to the weapon. Most ROM's work only up to level 6 devices/weapons/shields. Above that you need either cubes (for the Heisenmachines computer) or specialized devices to enhance/upgrade weapons/shields. some of these stack (like hexage...

Re: Are howitzers OP?
Haven't used te Kiloton in a while, should test that again. It used to be good around 1.0 but since then it declined and had less use, only good against swarms indeed. ThermoCannon and TM7 are favourites and I have once done a launcher only and could finish the game with that. I like the versatility...

Re: Are howitzers OP?
I don't generally use howitzers very much. I'm more of an ammo weapon fan. However, if I can get an Ion9 that will be my primary weapon probably until the end, combined with a launcher, either Rasiermesser or Heavy Nami. With that layout there is no trouble with Luminous drones, because the Ion9 wil...

Re: Some late-game bugs and/or gripes (CC, 1.8b4)
Well, As far as I know Halo gems and alien tech can be analyzed, but haven't tested that yet in the latest beta. Perhaps you haven't found all analyzer types yet? The analyzers are a very recent addition though, a few versions back there was no way to analyze stuff, other than using or applying the ...

Re: Project Renegade (Beta) (1.7)
Unfortunately there has not been any work done on Renegade for quite a long time. Xephyr is being missed here.... The mod is excellent on 1.7, since then there have been changes in vanilla code that this mod does not take in account and several thing do no longer work as intended. (like some of the ...

There have been some small changes to the BM in the latest beta's but there still is only one mission.

Re: Help; Teraton fabrication
Teraton Fabricators were nerfed several versions ago, they were too overpowered. I usually only use them to create Ammo, because that is the most reliable thing to make. Other high level items return a different item that is usually of lower level than what you dropped in. But it can make working it...

Re: 1.7 Beta 4 and Part II Alpha Test
I haven't played VoTG a while. Mostly because in the previous beta's there were bugs that made progress nearly impossible. It is still very much in an Alpha state, so if you play VoTG please report bugs. Its development is making progress, much is still experimental. The Sapphire struggles with the ...

Re: Suggestion: Scale Down Eternity Port
I'm running the latest beta on Linux and there are no problems playing on my rather old laptop. One thing that might help is tweaking Wine a bit. I documented some of that elsewhere on the forum: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8001
Still valid for the latest release of Wine.

Re: 1.8 Beta 4
Automatic download failed for me (from 1.8b3.3). Restarting the game does not trigger the download again, trying manual update.
