Hell, while I'm showing things off, I might as well show something decent: http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence/wiki/_media/transport_screenshot_2008.09.21.2.jpg Much better. Awesome work! You've made an amazing amount of progress in a short time! Can't wait to try it out. I can't avoid a straig...

Transcendence has been known to run on Wine for quite a while. :) However, Gambit is making a native Linux version which will totally rock, and be much faster. Speaking of, here's a bit of a teaser: http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence/wiki/_media/transport_screenshot_2008.09.21.jpg Yes, that's ...

No problems :)

In case curious minds want to know, it currently gets about 3/4 of the way through the loading process. That means it displays the splash screen and animates the stargate, which is pretty significant :)

Future updates as events warrant.

A native port of Transcendence is in the works, but it's good to hear that Wine works well with it :)

I'd agree. Taking out friendly fire would be like playing doom without wall clipping. Sure, you could, but it'd be a completely different game play :)

Fleet battles are something that I'm definitely interested in. Summoning not so much (I /like/ genocide!), but multi-ship battles have definite interest. The only problem nowadays is that, with friendly fire on, swarms (like the miners) quite often self kill. I'm not sure what can be done about that...

In Trans-X 2, all CSC's will have different weapons loadouts- so some, if not all CSC's will appear in the game. (almost every ship will have variable weapon configs- only a few, such as eridani corsairs or eridani centarian raiders will have non-changeable configs) Not to rain on your parade, but ...

Brings up an interesting point, though. Perhaps it'd be worthwhile to enhance the AI such that ships above a certain class (i.e. large enough to know better) will actively avoid allied stations that are near destruction. Dunno how difficult that would be, though.
