Yeah... if auton dealers stay as they are, they should appear in early game. As they stand right now, they REQUIRE new, heavier autons to stay viable in the games balance. Hmm. I'd love to see a military auton or two..and some more commercial autons with a TEV-9 or Tritium cannon (uh...methinks the...

Autons do have a nice niche in 0.99c. If there's a Charon stronghold or something, and escorts are gating in, ordering a bunch of 1Ms and a few 1M/is to wait right next to the gate....and you can go off and blow some stuff up, come back, and have a nice big wreck field to loot :D But when Auton deal...

Machines run nuclear reactors ;) INSIDE the shielding. What might be nice is a more expensive, larger auton.....that is based on the 1M series, but has been updated to be more resistant to the hazards of space. (Or something) Call it 1M/x or something like that. Make it reasonably rare....because if...

The no-fire zone around stations definately needs tweaking. I yesterday abused it by shooting Ferian miners until I had 3 or 4 Warriors coming after me, then sat between the arms of a Black Market Shipyard. Select autopilot, and a few minutes later, the base is at 91%.......invoke defend, watch it ...

Hint: if you press 'n' (SOME SHIPS CRASH THIS IN RC1.0!!!), you can scroll through the various ships... I know :D However I never seem to get many ships except by doing this.....probably coded, but i'd love to see everything (except the iocrym, which beats EVERYTHING ELSE) in the menu screen... Psy...

I have seen a bug with buying things at Adventure Outfitters.... All items gave "this item is not for sale". Selling some items fixed it for some items, but not for others...(the military stuff was too expensive, and said so AFTER I sold some stuff.....but lower level things (A dual-particle beam we...

That Xenophobe Ark genuinely scares me........I've had it up on the menu screen a few times to see if any of the ships that normall turn up could swarm it......so far, nothing's managed it. I've never got that far in RC.1 to actually fight it myself, however. And the ferian warriors are really nice ...

I have confirmed that gating/loading into a generated system generates those invalid painter errors... a whole lot of them: my debug log is .5MB! (and I havn't played much) Mine's 1.08MB :D And it is REALLY hard to understand shield and armor stats......it's hard to know if something is immune, res...

I think the problem with slow gating has to do with all the "invalid painter creator" errors. There is a bug when loading an old system in which the game tries (and fails) to find a null painter object for every object in the system. All the searching and error logging takes time. It's fixed in RC2...

I have to agree with that... Just imagine me *actually* going into one of these shops: Shrike: Hi generic salesman NPC! Generic Salesman: Greetings! Do you want to buy any of our stock? Shrike: Depends.....what have you got? Generic Salesman: We don't know. Shrike: You don't know? Generic Salesman: ...

thanks gambit! oh, bimble came across something interesting... [12:15] <bmbl> So now with more users I have this unknown rhomboid-shaped device [12:15] <bmbl> I installed it and it is still a rhomboid-shaped device (noone knows what it does...) [12:15] <bmbl> Is that a bug or may this be correct? [...
