Re: Replacing UNIDs with hashable strings

So, okay, I'm going to ask some questions here that I asked online, as I have little understanding of how these things work. Currently, I use Notepad++ to do searches through all .xml files in my Transcendence directory (either Transcendence/CC source or extension source) for all mention of a partic...

Re: Corporate Command

I have a question regarding Corporate Command and Transcendence.

When I start a new game, it asks if I want to include Corporate Command. If I don't checkmark it, why does the Debug.log still report the three .tdb files from Corporate Command as being loaded?

Re: 1.2 Beta 3 is ready!

George, You asked me to post some suggestions for TransData. I didn't know where else to post them, so here they are: Since we are now in a situation where we may have many .tdb files, not just Transcendence.tdb, for instance, the 3 for Corporate Command, I think some changes to how TransData works ...

Re: Next Paid Extension Poll

Mind you, much as I'd like Part II (which was promised next, several times) sooner than later, and I'd like to see it offered free, I realize that George needs to eat and pay bills, just like the rest of us. I have a game called Siege of Avalon, by Digital Tome. Originally, you went to their website...

Re: Next Paid Extension Poll

Just a point for those who have been questioning Paid Extensions. This is no different than a game on Steam that is "Free to play", but any DLC is paid. I haven't looked at George's prices yet, so won't give an opinion on those till I do. And, as George keeps reminding us, there will still be plenty...

Re: 1.2 Beta 3 is ready!

Okay, extracted Transcendence (1.2 Beta 3) to a new directory, made a shortcut, ran it. I tried to log in to Multiverse, all I get is that it could not send command to Multiverse. No information about why, simply the following line (for every time I tried to connect) in the Debug.log: /api/requestLo...

Re: 1.1

Great news. I guess I need to stop playing RPGs and dig into this new Release version, and see what I can break - er - do with my mods as I update them. BTW, George, I didn't see the normal link to TransData, do we just use the one for 1.08l? Thanks for all your hard work, George. I apologize for no...

I asked George that when he was on IRC, he said that wasn't ready yet, but was coming. For now, just imagine what your avatar will look like in that box

Re: 1.08 is ready!

Okay, George, Just a few initial thoughts... For one, if we're going to be able to download mods from within the game, how about the following: 1) An in-game mod manager (can enable/disable installed mods without removing them from your Extensions directory - with perhaps a warning stating that the ...

Re: 1.07

George, Thank you for another fine release, any idea how long before 1.07a is out, I'm considering waiting till it's out to download 1.07, if it's soon? As for scuttling ships, yes, there is a mod, it's also included in the FalconCV mod (currently replaces the Dock screen when docked to a ship). Geo...

Re: [tool] Sprite Sheet Generator

I've been using IrfanView's panoramic stitching to make my sprite sheets, especially for animated ships. First I make the vertical strips, then stitch those together horizontally to get the animation frames. You can also use it to convert from one file format to another (png/jpg/bmp/etc.), and to re...

shanejfilomena: So, I guess where I got lost in the beginning is how your story fits in with George's, but it seems you've said enough now that I've got an idea what you're talking about. At first, I thought you had gotten tired of waiting for George to write Part 2, and decided to write it yourself...

Re: boxed in..as in I wrote myself into a corner.

George: So, are you using the "Mafia boss in prison with a telephone" as just an example of how Oracus is able to wield power, or are you also saying that Oracus is what most would term "evil" in regard to the way he controls things and people, and the goals he has? I know, you don't wish to reveal ...

Re: Adventures and modules

I just realized that what George wants is essentially the custom campaign feature from Neverwinter Nights, where only the basic gameplay engine is consistent between all campaigns. The difference is that we can't import/export our player characters between campaigns. Hm. This is true. I'm sort of w...

I'm already sitting on #transcendence on irc.freenode.net waiting for you all to show up.

See you there, and George too!
