Re: Pale Blue Light Alpha Release
This is exactly the sort of thing I've been hoping someone might do. I even would have done it myself if I could ever find time, but you've already done it. Awesome! I'll definitely be checking this out in the near future to help me get back into things. Thank you, sir

Re: Bring back the screensaver!
I'd forgotten all about this. Never used it myself because the one inside of the game was always running on my computer anyway. That one is still there isn't it? I used to love watching my ship mod fight off all comers before finally being subdued by a giant swarm.

rock on. I'll totally check into that within a few days or so. Currently fascinated with a linux-on-your-usb-stick kick, but I've bookmarked your link, so I'll get around to it...

Re: Transcendence artwork
First of all, please forgive the necromancy. I wouldn't normally revive something so old, but it seems to be worthwhile. I was wondering, since I tried the provided links and got 404 errors, is there any free version of TS (or anything compatible) still available?

Re: what do I need to know to mod Transcendence
My two cents: All you really need is an eye for program flow. If you have the patience to keep looking until you can figure out what some code is doing you can figure it out for yourself. My eyes glaze over when it's anything math intensive, but George puts in a lot of comments and has things organi...

Re: 1.08g
pip, any mods on your game? The engine doesn't like it when you declare 40 frames but the graphic is really the standard number? What you describe sounds like what happens when the framecount [edit] ticksperframe? I can never remember since I just remove it to resolve the problem [/edit] tag is acti...

Re: How many on the forums are NOT Vanilla purists?
I think I might have played 99 prior to the c release as vanilla. After that, the multitude of changes made me want to explore without having to start over, so I made a molotok mod from scratch. Since then, (when I have time) I take a gander at the source and rewrite a new mod as if for the first ti...
Re: TransData
Thanx, matix.
Someone else had mentioned using search somewhere and since it's been so long since I was here, it actually came up with what I was looking for. However, I'll totally be using the links you provided in the future.
Thanks again

Re: Gimp and BMP Masks
I don't really keep up with all the goings on around here. You guys tend to fix problems before I even have time to report them. That said, I'm interested in this masking issue. From the beginning of my modding trials, (back in 98b) I've always used GIMP. The post about it being windows ware doesn't...

I'm guessing the transdata21 I'd downloaded was for 1.01?
