Re: Kaidun shields as applied to a post-modern worldview

Eh... the only ones whom ccould do that to me were the Ferians, for obvious reasons. Nothing else has given me even a hint of trouble. every last death I've had is because I've lost a cargo drone or done somethng else monumentally stupid and just facerammed into enemies until I died (before I found ...

Re: Contemporary 24th Century Mars: Glassed surface?

Eh, perhaps I should have said meteoroid rather than meteor; never expected you to get so literal about it. I mentioned that because you stated, "They're easier to impart the right velocity on as well, since asteroids usually won't be heading in a convenient direction." Yeah, asteroids move, but wit...

Re: Kaidun shields as applied to a post-modern worldview

Then why does the Solon shield exist? It's only purpose is to provide near immunity to laser damage early game, when you're facing plenty of kinetic and blast, as well as quite a bit of particle too. Yet it's still quite useful overall. If the majority of the opponents you're going to be fighting us...

Classes on New Game

I had the idea that perhaps the Pilgrim might have a few "class choices", ie; reflect what they did prior to embarking on their Pilgrimage. These are base ideas I'm positing for people to work on with me and refine. -Engineer would start out with a complete Engineering Degree As seen here , A Shipya...

Re: Weapons Extended 4

Playerdrones would be an excellent idea to use as a mod in tandem with WE. Large range of ships plus large range of weapons = customizable win. Plus, playerdrones already has scuttle ships as a base component.

...Would like to se some form of the Almighty Wrench involved, as well.

Re: PM's mods as of 1.05

Ignore the previous issue. >_>; Wolfen was generated prior to mod being installed. Works fine when I sell that wolfen and buy another. new issue cropped up though; With an inertialess Drive, I can't dock anywhere, not to a drone or to a base. Not sure if this is vanilla or via mod, but it's somethin...

Re: Contemporary 24th Century Mars: Glassed surface?

Shrike: Er... i think you're thinking meteors. Asteroids are those things floating around in the Kuiper Belt and the asteroid belt right outside Mars' orbit. Even asteroid bombardment especially on a low-grav (38% earth grav), thin-atmo planet like Mars (even if terraformed its core features restric...

Re: Kaidun shields as applied to a post-modern worldview

...Meth enforcers? Oh, those things that die in two shots. :P Really, a wandering patrol of Meths wouldn't be any trouble at all in that example. Wandering patrols are too few in number, and you can easily eliminate them beforehand. Not only that, but having armor that's defensive towards a damage t...

Re: Insurance: Blessing or Curse?

I'd much, much, much rather skip insurance entirely even in a permadeath game than have them clogging up station slots. I had to go from St. K's all the way to Jiang's Star with a 100 MW reactor because there were never any drydocks or other places selling anything other than weapons. I had a Fusion...

Re: Simultaneously turning and firing is not always possible

replicated issue with three other keyboards on two computers. It is almost assuredly the inability of the keyboard to be able to register enough keystroke commands at the sametime when using Space. This is particularily galling with USB keyboards (More than likely what you're using). Recommended rem...

Re: Contemporary 24th Century Mars: Glassed surface?

But why would they? Flinging asteroids around is like the ultimate scourge- If ANYONE uses them, then they are immediately seen as people to be feared and hated and, ultimately, wiped out as soon as possible. Sending an asteroid via heavy reactor drive into a planet's surface makes pretty much any i...

Re: Faction HQ & SY, Sung in particular

Of course you'd see who loses without Player intervention; The Huari are a crumbling empire and thus can't field as many units as they wish they could. But I mean, they keep using those cyberdecks against me and failing to actually get them to work, and I'm just at Jiang's Star now. I'd think that t...

Re: Faction HQ & SY, Sung in particular

...After fighting the Huari, I really, really, REALLY don't see how the Sung could keep crushing them. Now, I'll admit I haven't faced a single Dragon yet, but I mean, even just two Hurin easily destroy an entire fleet of Wing and Earth slavers, as well as their -citadel- that was located nearby. It...

Re: Kaidun shields as applied to a post-modern worldview

But, that's why you use your Particle immune shield to go and roflstomp the Sung first- or just use a tracking weapon to demolish them long before they are any real threat to you (Omni weapons and the SmartCannon are excellent examples).
