Re: Newest member of the Transcendence community

Congratulations! We'll try to be understanding until the new guy is up to speed (or at least sleeping through the night).

Re: Auton limit

The Constellation's cargo is currently not expandable because you can only have one cargo bay. I proposed changing that here.

I'm not aware of a limit on the number of autons, but I expect the game would run out of hotkeys to communicate with them after 35 or so (Q is used for squadron).

Re: Compartments making bosses a bit too tough?

The Ministry ticket Round-off errors when applying damage resistance suggests George is planning to implement stochastic rounding for damage to armor and shields, and maybe compartments. If it is implemented for compartments, then rescaling compartment hp is no longer needed for my proposal. Only th...

Re: Anti - capship tactics for Constellation?

Obviously, giving them better shields and armor helps their survivability. You could also try hit-and-run tactics by ordering them to attack and then return to formation. Repair them at auton dealers when they take damage. In the early to mid game, the EMP cannon and AK505 Ballista are good choices....

Re: Farming

The item tables can be found in StdTypes.xml. But they're basically just a set of criteria for choosing items. Most of the loot you get is either specific items like fuel and ammo or chosen from one of those tables. I haven't studied the code for picking random items in depth, but I think the way it...

Re: Smart Spiders and Arrays

I think you have to use (objRegisterForEvents) to get those kinds of events to execute.

Re: Fuel question…

I was editing my post to be slightly more informative as you were posting yours. You're welcome. I've found it interesting to search through the code. Downloading the source with the Git desktop client and using Notepad++'s find in files feature makes it reasonably practical to answer questions like...

Re: Fuel question…

Here's the most relevant part of the C code that handles those functions: case FN_ITEM_GET_TYPE_DATA: { // Because of backwards compatibility, if we only have one argument // then we assume that we want type data. if (pArgs->GetCount() == 1) pResult = pCC->Link(pType->GetData(), 0, NULL); // Otherwi...

Re: We need to take a look at WMD balance across levels

Overall, that looks similar to what I'd expect. I'll have to get the rest of my data entered so I can compare my results. There are a few weapons that seem to be missing: - The AK505 (level 4 kinetic) does 42.73 compartment DPS. - If you assume that each particle from a particleCloud weapon does at ...

Re: The great big balance alteration suggestion thread for 1

Thanks for posting that. It's interesting, although it seems pretty out of date. Damage definitely scales up faster now, especially for the first few levels above 1. And some of those adjustment factors seem a bit crazy. Is there any info about how to adjust for damage type? Also, I'm quite confiden...

Re: The great big balance alteration suggestion thread for 1

I'm working on my own analysis of weapon balance. I think something important that's missing from digdug's graph is that there are factors other than raw DPS that affect how good a weapon is: - First is damage tier. I believe George balanced with the assumption that going up a damage tier is equival...

Re: CSC TERRA Mission

The gem of sacrifice does now set internal HP to a random value from 1 to 10. It also lowers shields and damages each armor segment by 96 to 99 percent of its maximum HP. So it should be effective against the ICS, but don't use it if you have armor damage or are about to take damage.

Re: Youtube Neglect

That would defeat the purpose, which is to have a higher quality version without the laggy parts. You might as well just watch it on Twitch.
