Python is easy for small-scale scripts. For complex programs, object-oriented languages like C++ are better. Transcendence engine was written in C++, so any addition would be most easily made in C++. Only if the ally attacked the enemy recently, or is closer to the enemy than the player and the player has not attacked the enemy too much recently. If you want to get technical, well, antimatter is produced when energy is converted to matter, in equal amount. When matter and antimatter collide, they are instantly converted into energy. In practice, enemy AI almost always target the player, so even if the wingmen flee straight, they will not be under fire unless they flee with the player.

I particularly like your map suggestions. We could use some pop-up information on the map. Unfortunately I believe it'll be very difficult to mod in, since the map doesn't support anything that could be used for that purpose, as far as I know. also, antimatter is actually classified as 'energy'. I've found this problem once too, and I'm sure there were no stargate to the Gunsan branch, at least in my case. I backtracked from Heretic and used a system map ROM in every system until Sanctuary, and then an explorer auton in those systems. I even flew in outward spirals in some systems I suspect...

That'd make all your wingmen fly in the same direction, becoming a bigger target, which is what I want to avoid. Scattering is safer, and I think also easier to implement.

RegDevs means registered developers. They're given access to contents that aren't in the game yet, so that they may use them in their projects or help develop them, etc. They're not allowed to give this information to anyone else.
