To me the constant renewal of the computer industry is a real 'turn off' when it comes to using the technology. I have games that are no longer supported, I have applications that no longer work because there are no patches/updates for them. While $20 here and $30 there may not seem like much at th...

Do you have one? I don't think I have that weapon mod anymore. It's really easy to make though. Just set up a mine with an ammo graphic so it's tiny (like a cannon ammo) and then make the weapon shoot 250 or so times.. (For trivia purposes, I think there were 2 chaff systems in Random Weapons 0.1 wh...

I agree, mines are a little boring. I made a chaff style weapon a long time ago that fired off a bunch of small mines - worked really well, in fact it was devastating if the shots did more than a few hp damage each. I toned the mine damage down to 1 hp, and that made it a little more balanced, then ...

Prophet - it's an interesting challenge to redo the weapon slots and balances, isn't it? I wonder if you would benefit from a different approach - it takes more coding, but can result in better end results: I had set up a model for switching to an entirely non-slot system - where instead of using th...

Schilcote, I doubt that I am going to ever let you connect to any database on my server. Get your own ${ouch} a month dedicated server and web hosting/ development company with half a dozen paranoid clients and I am sure you'll have an inkling why I am not opening up my doors and databases to your e...

Be nice to have your thoughts on things - come over to the forums if you'd like to check out the information and ongoing ideas. I don't have a plan to do a single player version. On the text parser - well, when I say text - I mean it's lists and options and blocks of text messages, not like a MUD wi...

I got to chime in here and comment on Fonts. RC6 fonts look the best on my system since 0.98. Not sure what you may have done, but the rc6 dockscreens are cleaner and more pleasant on my eyes than I had seen in a while (may have missed a few version - I think rc2 was the last one I really played a b...

Actually the game server is in PHP, and flash is just the client. Contact me about penetration testing as I would love to find what you can come up with and get some help plugging any SQL inject points, CSRF vulnerabilities or other exploit problems.

Thanks. :) I still think George had a lot of influence, as modest as he is. Other games I played over the years I looked into modding and the mod communities - but this is the only place I ever found that the actual game developer ever took a personal interest in what I was doing and offered insight...

Thank you, George Moromisato!

It's about time I really thanked George for the things he has done for me. You all probably don't know me too well anymore - I have been pretty busy since my daughter was born two years ago and have kind of dropped my activity here in the forums as a result. That and the other things that have chang...

Wow, you've done a lot of improvement since the paper fleet days! These ships remind me of those quaternion fractals, ever seen those?

*BlitzHere jumps on to the BandWagon* Incidentally is why do I keep getting the same CAPTCHA when I refresh??? EDIT - It's the same letters, not necessarily the same CAPTCHA... Pretty sure it sets the captcha code letters in the session in SMF, and doesn't seem to offer a way to get other letters, ...
