What about "Infector Cannon" (Particle)? Low damage, cannot penerate shield but have chance 25% draining 5% your fuel per attack (Above 250MW doesn't effect). Let Heliotrope Colony have this weapon (because they are specialized about Fuel), and install it in their base.

I also feel Dvalin Ion9 cannon is best. If you can obtain it before Huari mission or Point Juno mission. I recommend this weapon.

If you want to win the crowd's heart, but you not want pick hard level opponent. Then you can pick easy level opponent. But when it start, disable shield for increasing crowd affection. But the real challenge is, when you pick hardest level opponent and disable your shield.

In the first time playing this game, you may confused with gameplay and/or storyline. I remember when I was first time playing this game, I was really confused! Even I was reach Heretic Stargate and nothing I can do again. And funnily, my ship is only equip a mining laser, monopole deflector screen,...
