Players generally spend a lot more time traveling and in dockscreens than fighting, so the standby power use is more important. That's much more heavily weighted towards shields' power use. I calculated how long it takes each starting ship to consume 10 helium fuel rods. This assumes: shields are always recharging, primary weapons is always firing, and the ship is always thrusting. Just uploaded 1.8 Beta 3.2!

I wanted to fix the Freyr bug since that's a major regression too. The Freyr weapon was not firing straight if it had no target.

I made a critical fix and released 1.8 Beta 3.1. It should update automatically the next time you sign in to the game.

Games created with 1.8 Beta 3 are not good, unfortunately. Please restart a game with 1.8 Beta 3.1. [You can tell the create version if you bring up stats (F2) for the game.]
