Transcendence Pastebin - Radical Changes

Hi, everyone, I've got some rather bad news. There have been some radical changes at pastebin.com, and transcendence.pastebin.com is no more. After reading their announcement regarding the changes: http://pastebin.com/v3.php I sent them an email asking if anything could be done so that we could cont...

Re: How did the mauraders build the tripolis?

How?

One piece at a time?

Perhaps they buy them from the Romulans, like the Klingons did their early ships (and we just don't go that direction in the Vanilla game, so we don't run into them)? <Well, the Transcendence version of "Romulans">

Re: UNID Clash detection change in 1.04

Well, it's probably not a problem for most modders, but I could see it as a problem for a few of the more prolific modders.

Again, how many UNID spaces are/were there in Transcendence? Are graphics the only things affected if you move to a single UNID space?

Re: Services - Xelerus Enabled?

Yeah, I discovered it the other day, too, while looking at the settings (which someone on the IRC so graciously pointed out were there). I'd say, it's okay to leave it in there, but turned off. I won't be using it unless I get into some serious gaming session with Transcendence, but I could see some...

Oh, and this new Galactic Map, does it actually change the topology in the game? If so, are the links linear (only two gates per system between the first and last systems), or can it be used to create branching topologies (such as found in Privateer and Freelancer)?

Say, George, would you ever consider including a mod in the distro some time. For instance, something like DSF (once it gets updated for the new abilities you've added to Transcendence). I'm just thinking that there are some mods that you might consider important enough to make them standard fare, t...

Okay, I don't know who first discovered it, but I'm the first that I know of. Now that you've mentioned this overlapping UNID space issue, I'd like some sort of explanation of just what that is, and what it means to us now. How many UNID spaces does Transcendence have and what kinds of things does t...

Okay, first off, I like the term "disruption/disrupted". Second, we already have a form of device disruption. It happens when we use a defective display enhancement ROM, and our display is "disrupted" temporarily. So, thirdly, I see no reason why a weapon could not similarly affect one or more devic...

As usual, my notes on this version: Balancing : - I managed to get a particle beam weapon in Eridiani or the second/third system installed by a weapons shop (option "install particle beam"). I think they should only offer to install stuff that matches the techlevel of the system. ...to be updated a...

Hi! Good to see the game still progressing. Thanks to sdw195 for letting me know about this new release. No internet at home and limited time online at the library do not make for much time to stop by. Thanks for keeping my account open, and thanks to George, again, for a great game (even if I do ha...

I was thinking about a device, similar to an ICX but mounts a turreted mining laser. I felt it would be OPed, especially if it would auto load the ore as well... but it is possible. Okay, I don't know what an ICX is, but I made a turreted dual-mining laser (with lots of help from you and Taben, and...

Thanks again for all the hard work.

I may wish more things had gotten into this version, but, you've certainly given us much to work with that we didn't have with 0.99c and prior versions.

Which means, we've got a lot of work to do to get our mods updated.

RC9 and suspension of disbelief

Okay, I've said this before, and I guess I'll have to say it again... Consider a new player to the game (once we have an official 1.0)... He goes on one mission he got from one of the stations near Epsilon Eridani. Next station he docks at tells him, "If you're looking for Arco Vaughan...". Now, I k...

As always, thanks George.

And, Psycholis, you can't please everyone all the time. Floating point math would help a lot.

Too bad we can't use the arbitrary precision integer-based floating point math that Fractint uses.
