0.99c takes saves from previous versions (0.98d, 0.99, 0.99a, and 0.99b).Mutos wrote:Hi George, hi all,
Nice, just downloaded it ! So it takes .99a saves OK, or do you recommend to throw them away ?
In fact, there are some cases in which 0.99c will even "fix" save files that were corrupted by previous versions.
If you have a save file corruption problem in 0.99c, then please report it (and let me know whether it is a new game or a game started previous to 0.99c).

I only post about "throwing out" saves in jest, though I *do* restart every time a version comes out, otherwise, I might miss a bug. We are, after all, play testing the game. Our goal is to find bugs, and so I start from scratch with every version. It's just a personal choice though.
Now that the bugs which affected the earlier 0.99's have been fixed, the game runs damn fine.george moromisato wrote:Fixes a few serious bugs...
Bravo George!
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I've been trying this version out for several days now and I'm having a blast (Thermo cannon style)! Yes I know it' been out for a while, but then I've been out for a while as well. I haven't really messed with the game since probably version 0.98b (yes, that's .98, NOT .99).
The mining is pretty cool - I've found that the plasma torch will usually coax ore out of ripe asteroids with a single hit.
The severe turning penalty when you have only about 50% of your cargo hold filled (with a sapphire) is pretty annoying though.
I was a bit surprised, but not totally unpleasantly so the first time I was killed by the explosion of a base.
There seems to be lots of new missions too.
Great work George!
