You've got a good point there...
Well, their aim is to protect freighters from pirates. I don't think they're afilliated with the Commonwealth, not sure. Either way, drugs are good money for the pirates so Korvlov wouldn't have any problem with escorting shipments of questionable legality.
And if the commonwealth really cares that much (or knows, maybe they can't prove the BM is doing anything illegal strongly enough for them to be able to take cation) then why don't they just blow all the BM stations into tiny metal giblets?

Even if Black Market affiliated stations do some legitimate shipping, they would probably want to use the armed transports they tend to use anyway. They wouldn't want Commonwealth Customs snooping around all their establishments and such, right?

Nah, Korolov's a shipping company and company = business and business = do anything possible to make money, including grounding their legendary pilot for purposes of being legendarily alive They'd problably supply goods to the Charon pirates if the pirates didn't prefer to blow them up - anyway, I don't think it affects gameplay much unless you made the black market mad at you and need to avoid that particular mission..

Actually, from what I understand anyway, Korvlov is a foundation (maybe not-for-profit, not sure) created after the freighter Korvlov got blown up with the son of a rich family on board. The money they give you probably comes directly from the freighters (I forget, but I think the wording is "freighter Shippendorf will give you X credits for escorting it to Spaghettiland", implying that Korvlov is merely a hookup service for freighters and escorts) and Korvlov is simply against pirates, doing whatever has to be done to keep them from shooting down inocents.

It may be too late to implement something like this, but it would be cool if the game could somehow calculate a risk factor for a mission based on hostile enemy bases (not dead) and whether the destination is a base with a "shady" reputation and allow you to try and negotiate a higher fee. Standard risk missions would refuse a higher fee, but high-risk missions would accept.

Well, yeah. They're probably just delivering all the very much legal precursor substances for the drugs.
I have been playing RC4. I got the arena mission where your mentor is kidnapped and you have to blow up a ship guarding a black market station. I finished the mission where the ship with you blows up the station. When we flew back to the arena, the other ship just flew right into the wall of the arena and got stuck there (the entrance was on the other side).
Seemed like a bug. The ship had no problem navigating from the arena entrance to the black market station, just couldn't make it back.
