1.2 RC 2

A new version is ready and will automatically download the next time you run Transcendence (provided you're running RC 1). You may manually download from the usual place (http://kronosaur.com/downloads/TranscendenceNext.zip).

NOTE: In RC 1, unfortunately, the download task blocks other tasks, so you probably won't be able to load or start a new game until the download is complete. I've fixed this in RC 2 (the download will not interfere with other Transcendence tasks). You can avoid this by upgrading manually (or not signing in).

RC 2 is mostly a bug fix release:

1. Unknown items do not get visual attributes.
2. Special tinker items should no longer available at Corporate Trading Post.

3. Player autotargetting takes swivel into account when choosing targets.
4. Added setting to disable auto downloads (<Option name="noAutoUpdate" value="true"/> in Settings.xml)
5. Adjusted background color of new display attributes.

6. Multiple laser collimators should not confer enhancement. See: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=6112
7. Fixed bug with enhancements. See: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=6103
8. Fixed mining. See: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.p ... f=2#p55107
9. Fixed bug in which Ferians don't attack the player. See: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=6110
10. Intro does not show virtual objects
11. Aux weapons now inside shields. http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=6122
12. Fixed epitaph when best ship destroyed is friendly. See: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.p ... =30#p55221
13. sysVector... functions now deal with negative angles.
14. Downloading upgrade no longer interferes with loading/creating games.

Please let me know how the auto upgrade goes.

This should be the last RC. The next build will be a final 1.2, so please report any last minute critical bugs as soon as possible. Thanks for all your bug reports--we've caught a bunch of good bugs this time.

Auto update didn't happen for me. Logged in and out of multiverse, quit and reopened, but no dice.

Sorry, I had a bug in the configuration. Please try again--it should work.

Updated (or is it "upgraded"?) just fine that time.

For some reason the update doesn't appear in the debug file:

Code: Select all

10/29/2013 14:55:54	Transcendence 1.2 RC 1

10/29/2013 14:56:23	End logging session

Would it be possible to add a 'total' filesize to the 'downloading upgrade' status dialog?

Something saying 'downloading upgrade xxx.x MB of yyy.y MB' would be fine

Also, from the loading screen, the dialog (once upgraded) reads 'Press restart to continue' (or similar).. but there is no 'restart' option

Tks

That was quick.

I just have a few minor things which were already present in the last RC and the betas:
  • there still is an issue with traffic to armor dealer stations - either not enough docking ports or not enough ships departing
  • the ICX laser is green like a turbo laser, but the impact animation is red. I think because its an 'ordinary' laser both should be red
  • the tech analyzer (that level 1 item) seems to have a problem analyzing level 1 barrels. I have two types of barrels tagged as level 1. One of them is definitely radioactive waste (by amount and found in a sapiens compound), but I can analyze neither of them ("analyzer not sophisticated enough").
The first automatic upgrade/update of Transcendence worked fine for me too, but is this possible without a manual restart of Trans?

EDIT: Comparing the ships specs of Rama and Jenna I think Jenna should be offering to join the player at a commonwealth fortress and Rama at a commonwealth star carrier. I think that was the case in an earlier version or alpha/beta.

When buying an installable device at a commonwealth fortress armory the player is not offered to have the device installed. Not a bug, but I think a logical enhancement.

Barrels that are unidentified only tell you level 1, 5, or 10.
The barrels are probably level 4 but listing as level 1 (unidentified).

Radioactive Waste's actual level is more than the first analyzer can handle. Though I don't know why would radioactive wastes should be hi-tech, it's not exactly a bug.

Also not thrilled about the freighter's reactor getting nerfed. Losing 10MW is a really big deal if you're trying to do a reactorless run.8

edit: i guess it didn't; for some reason i thought it had gotten reduced to 15MW but it's still 25MW
