Vault of the Galaxy has been updated to 1.0 Alpha 9
This version has a number of fixes and updates to use new API features.
Known issues:
* Crash bug due to a reference leak in the (map ...) function, which is usually caused by the nano scourge overlay. This is not fixed until 2.0 Alpha 3 which was supposed to be released today with VotG 1.0 Alpha 9, but issues with signing the executable have delayed that release.
* Rare crash bug due to a physics issue, most commonly observed with segmented bioships.

It means that the number of activations on that code has run out. George will probably put out a new code either on this week's stream next week with the 2.0a3 launch.

I think the test has closed: It does not show the download link.

I've encountered a few potential balancing issues with the newly added missions.
Firstly, the Emir/Labyrinth questline can be progressed by one step for every Erebien station you visit. This wouldn't be a problem normally, however, Arienhal, the Erebien capital, obviously has a considerable amount of Erebien stations, and is currently only the third system in VotG, after Mourner and the near-empty Weir.
The third mission in the questline involves an Oberon-class patrol ship that the player must destroy before it destroys the station where the mission was started. The Oberon is a military-tier ship equipped with an antimatter cannon and nano missile launcher, and its armor is near-impenetrable with plasma or positron, which are most likely what you will have at Arienhal.
The Oberon can be destroyed before the station by using an Aman Gul antimatter cannon and Nabul T33 missiles, however, doing so is neither easy (even with all that DPS, you're cutting it quite close before the station dies, or you get killed by its 3 Gargoyle escorts) nor obvious at this point in the game, and requires good Mourner RNG to obtain a large amount of RU to afford the Aman Gul in the first place.
Secondly, Crematen Groves can spawn in Mourner. This wouldn't normally be an issue, as they only attack if provoked, however, Eksillium's mission line will eventually ask you to destroy every space fauna/flora asteroid in the system, including the Crematen Grove should one spawn. This effectively soft-locks the Eksillium mission line, as the Crematen Grove will kill the player within 2-3 seconds of being provoked at this point in the game, and its attacks cannot be dodged in any way as they are hitscan beams coming from a dozen nearby asteroids.

(Also just a quick note, but if anyone needs a key for the alpha, DM us on discord or the forums for one)

Suggestion: Some nice Erebien points out how foundries work, and gives you some recipes. Because I have a fair share of Mechanist stuff, including a Thorizoan pearls and preon condenstate, but no idea what to do with it!

Just finished the Labyrinthe Quest, and what does it say? it says that:
Spoiler: Click to display |
Just that. No reason, no points, nothing apart from that. The Sapphire is too slow to keep up, and there is just too little stuff.
(admin edit): fixed your spoiler tags & formatting around it! Sorry, they aren't the most intuitive to use - its an old phpbb3 plugin. You actually have to add "something in quotes" after the =, otherwise it breaks. In this case I set it to Spoiler="Click to display". That really should be the default, but we cant really change it unfortunately.
