If you don't know how to use it with /dx just make a shortcut to Trascendence.exe
and put a /dx after the quotatation marks.

I did switch to /dx, it still slowed enough to lower the enjoyability.

are you in a system with nebula or is transc slow in general ?

What do you think about the endless stream of spawns ?

What about modding wandering spawns which dont attack the player directly ?

It's slow in general, even Eridani before I can clutter up the system with wrecks.

Have you tried changing resolution, killing background processes, and general computer maintenance like defrag your hard drive?

I found that Norton's Big Stoopid Virus Crappy always made my transcedence games run slow, that if I down sized my resolution the game ran much much better, and that my computer loves a good defrag.

the 3 ipod and itunes background processes eat so much ram and cpu time that i have to kill them to play transcendence nicely.

I stop the antivirus when i play (with every game)

maybe you have a spyware running in background and eating all your cpu power ?
i suggest Spybot search and destroy and Hijack This.
A check for dialers, or some recent nasty hybrid trojans-spywares like Virtumonde (took me 3 days to get rid of it!) is also raccomended.

Skype never gave me problems, but I know it can be annoying.

torrents can eat a lot of ram too.

does anyone have any other odea to help him ?

Not really a viable solution.. but it helps to have 2+ gigs of ram...

My computer is an old Pentium II with 256 RAM. I'm lucky I got one that good. I don't have Norton(Thank everything in this universe that is good and right) Isn't there anywhere that I could get 98c?

Or you could just download it from the address:

http://neurohack.com/downloads/Trans098c.zip

Seems to still be there.

Also, if you have a backup utility, it can consume more resources than limewire, at around 25K of ram. Lacie backup confirms 35k for me. be sure to pickup a copy of ccleander. it works like disk cleanup, only better.
