Why does the Adventurer Outfitters allow you to buy military stuff without an id but doesn't allow you to equip any of it. At least with the other dealers they don't sell the stuff to you first. (this is more of a general problem I have with I have all this military stuff from the outfitters and the black market but no one will equip it early mid game. This kills black markets because they are earlier game stations but you might as well not buy anything from them because you can't equip it until much much later when it might be outdated.
edit: I would even be willing to pay 100X the install price.

Just change the programing for the blackmarket stations (it fits the story) so that they will outfit you with anything. (remove the instalation check for millitary ID (I think there's one?!?)

well yes you can do anything you want in mods but doesn't help the overall game (just your version).
Plus most people are not modders. (plus mod conflicts can be a nightmare)
if you are making a suggestion the problem with that is the black market already has shipyards and if you give normal stations the ability to install stuff it would conflict with the concept of the later stations (making them just more of the same)

Sorry we wont sujest a mod then.
In response to your first question
As for the blackmarket instalation problem, What level weaponry are we talking about here?
In response to your first question
The answer is that like all other station the instalation pages programing has a switch that checks military ID and then either instals military kit or not.Why does the Adventurer Outfitters allow you to buy military stuff without an id but doesn't allow you to equip any of it.

Black market stations don't install things (other than the smugglers hold)
I know why technically it does it I was just wondering the reasoning. Given that it makes them not very useful for selling military stuff.

Correct me if I am wrong.
When a mod is created of a specific source (eg. ships interior) it uses the same in game Unid's (access unids the oens that the computer jumps to in menu changing) as the original programing and is used in the game over the original.
this means that Adventurer outfitters could be moded (or have a line of code added) so that they install millitary items after you buy them or they dont let you buy Millitary items at all. [thanks to Carbonite for that idea]

yes you can easily overwrite things.
I am hesitant on overwriting things in mods because every time a new mod comes out you need to remake the mod. (because you don't know if the thing that was overwritten was changed)
but ya you don't even need to put the entities of the things you overwrite
