Well... there was the bug that Bimble I think discovered causing infinite ships to spawn back in one of the RC's (RC7?)
They would fill up the whole screen with ships and make your computer lag like crazy.

Heh I remember fooling around with a mod the other day.... got a station to create itself in place of an enemy ship, but I forgot the station spawned with 4 enemy ships, so each of those ships turned into stations, which each had 4 more ships, which each turned into stations... It was madness! Infinite stations spawning at an exponential rate all over my screen!

An exponential rate until they caused the processor to lag...

I've been mucking around with modships lately....I haven't got anything balanced enough to release.
But one thing I've been playing with as a "Hellfire Cannon"
It fire 1 particle at a time, at a high fire-rate, and has really low thermo damage. However it's travelling at 85% of C, and has Momentum5.
The original was A. An omni weapon at ALL times. B. Much faster. and C. Had momentum 6 or 7.
This resulted, in the freighter, of small ships like tundras, wolfens, etc....DANCING, and sometimes being held back as if they were in a tractor beam when they tried to retreat. it still does, but not as much.
I'm still not sure how momentum is working backwards, but I suspect it's the particle type shot.
Whatever it is....the original (massively unblanced and REALLY hilarious to watch) would have made for a great screensaver.

Let's put omni on it and get a tractor beam up in this!

I actually did start working on a screensaver several months ago, but shelved it to concentrate on finishing 1.0.
I should resurrect it, because I don't think it would be too hard.

A literary masterpiece. What incredible prose, it's almost like poetry, yet it gets its message across beautifully and simply. No man with a decent mind could not be persuaded by this momentusly powerful post.Wolfy wrote:![]()

Sorry, I had a minor sarcasm buildup.
[schilcote] It doesn't have to be good, it just has to not be "wow is that the only thing you could think of" bad
