Another exploit: Auton dealers.
Since all unknown autons cost the same, your best best is to buy only those that weigh 5 tons--shop around and buy them all, you'll get the better autons at a cheaper price. Then use one of each to identify them and sell the now known ones back to the Auton dealer for a profit.

Asteroid Mining. Simple as that, and make sure you have a mule auton or five, cause they can get burdensome :)

BTW this will work better if you have a weapon that has the mining7 attribute, as you will get a hell of a lot more ore/metal

Of course, this isn't a surefire way getting rich quick, because the low level ores/metals are more common, and come in great quantities, although I'm not sure if thats a bad thing... More = $$$

The fact that it can be used to make money does not make it an exploit.

Fine. Create a shockwave weapon that has a mining7 attribute, slap a !!!LOLOLEXPLOITLOLOL!!! sticker on it and call it a day.

Translation of my super sarcasm: Good point.

Because if I just said "Good Point" It would defeat the purpose of being me -_-

My moods: Sarcastic, Stupid, Super Sarcastic w/ a hint of "I hate you all"

Yes, those are moods for me.

Save Charon!

As we all know, there's a station in Charon that gets swamped by pirates, everybody dies, and you have to go kill all the pirates in revenge.

Or do you?

It is possible to save charon, and in fact many people have. just ring the station with titanium barricades, then shoot down the enemy. Now, here's where I brag a little: last night I saved charon with a freighter with no weapons other than omni laser, a standard lvl II sheild, and blast plate for armor. And titanium barricades. lots of them.

I rule!

It's a shame you don't get any reward for saving the station.

I would hardly call something that you don't get a reward for an exploit.
Crying is not a proper retort!

I agree. But I also agree with OmniAddict (I know there is no capitalization in the name, but it bugs me not to do so). I've saved the damn station countless times, and now it's getting annoying. You should AT LEAST be able to do some missions, I mean C'mon, you do most of the work! It just makes me want to blow the station up for good:

"Sorry no freighters are looking for Escorts right now"

"SCREW YOU!" -sounds of laser pistol fire is heard along with screams-

And what's worse, if you let the station die and then bust the pirates, you get a "toughness" mark in your file that lets you do the military missions later. If you save the korolov station, you get no mark, and have to get it instead by doing all korolov missions, or saving slaves, or whatever. There is no justice!

I get my justice by:

1- Save the idiots, it keeps them ronins from flyin' away.
2- Go slaughter them Charon Pirates, you can get a few good things from 'em
3- Say g'night to the ronins, one by one, lure them away, it helps.
4- Oh goodie, the station has been left WIDE open.
5- Oh, whats that? The system is empty? Quick, brake out the Mining Lasers!
6- Fly away like nothing ever happened. (After taking a couple thousand more shots at the station of course... and don't forget to obliterate the shipwrecks! The less evidence they have against you, the better... of course they still might arrest you, but by that time, you have enough fuel to sustain until you meet the ringers.)

oh THATS how you get in the military...

To think I've been making a fortune off of pirating the Teretons... :D

I found you can shoot individual tereton defense sat's one at a time and kill them that way, leaving the station wide open for attack since the defence guns only attack you all at once if you attack the station first. But a dual partical gun and a 100HP shield can easily kill off those guns one at a time.

Another thing is that occasionally, a ship's AI locks up after being hit with a dwarg stun missile thing. I did that to a ranx destroyer once  . It sat there pathetically defenceless as I killed it with a plasma gun (The mining one)

Why nobody sees saving savegames worthy to be mentioned ?

I think Korlovov shipping missions has no limit. So you can just equip a heavy omni weapon, adapt your speed to the freigther and press fire button some times when red dots appear
Solution: less money with more missions, stronger pirates, limited missions ...

For 5,000 creds? You need at least an omni particle, and preferably an omni-TeV.

Perhaps recursively defined missions would be good: that is, missions that spawn first 1 Corsair-II pirate ambush, and then two, and then three etc.
