You mean .99c? there never was a .99d, although it was originally planned, it turned into 1.0 RC1
Also, there should be a download of 0.7 on the wiki

The transcendence version is set at the top of the Transcendence.xml file in the TranscendenceUniverse tagTtech wrote: I don't know how Transcendence sets version numbers but I don't remember it being in the XML.

NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OW my eyes! OMG that's horrible! How did you guys every play that thing????

Urgh - the main graphics are unchanged, but the interface is WAY better. I never appreciated having a list of items before, until I had to press Next|Back to cycle through a list. Ugh.
The text, the menu screens is all way better looking --- the old Map looks atrocious and doesn't let you pan, or zoom (and has a horrid blue background).
Wow, I really appreciate 1.04 now!

Or for even more fun, try Frontier 0.5
Transcendence 0.7 is basically Frontier with much improved graphics. And the ability to save your game.
Transcendence 0.7 also only contained a mere handful of ships:
sapphire
ronin
corsair
corsair-II
zulu
zulu-II
viking
barbary
tripoli
oromo
that fat boxy outlaw ship
ICS (old)
EI100 (old)
centurion
mikeno
salvager
those two penitent ships
the two sapien ships
and the armored transport the anarchists used
sandstorm
T31
T51 (unused AFAIK)
heliotrope destroyer
heliotrope fighter
centuair raider
tenhove
borer
hammerhead I
hammerhead II
We have come a long way. http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence ... ache=cache

its hard to believe we are only .4 versions difference (which ends up veing quiet a vew versions) really added to many ships and items to the game we have come a long way and still a log way to go.
@ aleterecco - I have never seen the version numbers, I must have flown by the xml again and again and never payed attention enough. Silly thing realy.

Frontier had an excuse -- it was made in like the 80's or something wasn't it?Wolfy wrote:Or for even more fun, try Frontier 0.5

Not really, because in the mean time we get beta releases of the next big one every few months :3
Which is about enough time to make some mods & do a full playthrough. (Sometimes not even enough!)
[And every new major release comes with new content AFAIK, and they come ~ once a year]

The patches would just occupy a revision slot I guess
like: 1.05.01

The patches will be awesome when 1.05 comes out -- the ability for George to just quickly pop in a patch without having to re-release a whole new version will help him a lit -- hopefully a fair few tickets might get fixed that way (though I know most of them are more hard-coded issues).Ttech wrote:I don't know how much longer version numbers will completely correlate as we have the patches now.
