First insurance claim costs 10,000. Second costs 50,000. Third and final costs 100,000. Insurance will refuse to offer more insurance after the third respawn.

Since permadeath is not enforced in this game, random insurance stations need to go. If I want to honor permadeath, I see insurance as a loophole and refuse to buy it. If I do not want permadeath, insurance hurts because it wastes hard earned cash and a self-destruct cannot reset a bad situation such as critical mission failure. However, one insurance station needs to be in the game to explain how a plot critical NPC returns in the last system if the player decides to assassinate her earlier in the game. The one in Rigel should suffice for that purpose.

In reality though there are many insurance places and most of them are not up to good. So if anythign there should be more insurance and more shady people.

If George implements that, I'll blow them to pieces with a Katana Starcannon, after I get to pummeling the Ares in the Outer Realm.
Especially the shady people. It scarily enough, it really fits into the RNG aspect of Transcendence.

Fate: Bought faulty insurance in the Rigel Aurelius system. Insurance claim failed to process after being destroyed in the Sanctuary system.

As for what is better the clavis or the renegades? Ill take more renegades and less clavis : but I noticed that If you do not use them, not even stop there, the game eventually bombs them out of the list except where they are scripted in. FreeHold Haven is good to push the Hostile to the Player Renegade part; but even my Best shields are no match for those weapons they have ( I can sit on a Ranx longer then take hits from the Haven.....drives me nuts! )
I play alot of games testing an idea, looking for effects of a mod : making sure the ships I sent out there are flying and not tanking Brits 5 a time ( Dead Stop was doing that I had to tank Him with 9 Enforcers: thats the night he lost his Lightning Cannon. ) So I did notice the lack of Presence by Clavis outside the Arena script since I really do not use them (unless I run the freighter: but thats rare )

Actually the Clavis stations are scripted to stop spawning after a certain point; it doesn't actually adjust to if you go there or not.

Exactly my thinking is that it would work a bit of shady and untrustworthy dealings in many aspects of the game seems to fit well.

One question: what kind of insurance do they (Clavius Ins) actually cover? Life of non-life? Cargo or personal accident? Hull or CTPL? Maybe these Q's can solve some of our issues with Clavis I guess (if not too being knit picky of sorts). Hehehe. 8-)

They cover incidents where you die due to hull breaches.
