Heh, that all looks cool.
Any word on when the next version will be out, George?
I bet it'll be when I'm on holiday, sometime in the next two weeks. Versions have a tendency to come out while I either have no internet or am on holiday.
Next version

And you can use the <event> in the next version, right?

Looks like there have been a number of minor balance changes. From the pic you can see that Class I deflectors have 25hp with slow regen now, armor can be upgraded and the Sapphire starts with a 15 MW reactor. The thrust and mass values of the sapphire may have been changed. I can't see how the thrust/mass ratio is 6.6 from the current values.
I bet its going to be out a week before my exams. They always seem to come out when I have my exams....

nice catch Blitz. It looks like the power had and needed has been lowered. That would make fuel alot easier (not that its hard now) at least in the early game.
Also remember that the slow regen thing is a relitive thing. The regen could have stayed the same. (not a fan a relitive descriptions I think it just creates confusion)

Crying is not a proper retort!
I was hoping that the sapphire would be better this version. But it looks the same as before. Same maxspeed, same cargo, same maneuverability and the same crappy maxarmor. All the unseen stuff is probably the same too.
Maybe the wolfen and the freighter will get weaker this version....
I've read somewhere that the regen rate is based on the time taken to regenerate maximum health. So, I'm guessing that the regen rate of the class I deflector is the same but has 5 extra hp. I don't like relative descriptions myself. Anyone else noticed there aren't any fast regen shields except for the Lazarus?
Anyways, I've got a couple of questions.
Does the no. of device slots for expansion show the number of unused slots?
Does the "c" in ".20c main drive" denote the speed of light?

I think it is the total slots. My guess is that reactors will no longer take a slot.Blitz wrote:Anyways, I've got a couple of questions.

c is the speed of light.

I use a snail modem as well but it never takes me over an hour to DL 9 MB's...usually around 35-45 minutes on average.Blitz wrote: I've got a really bad connection and 9 MB takes over an hour to download....
Friendly tips for dial-uper's when downloading:
Got multiple phones sharing the same line as your PC? Unplug them all when downloading (leave 1 connected if you really need a phone). The more phones connected to a shared line lowers your PC connectivity rate.
Try other phone cables--the one you're using could be weak.
Close out all unneccessary programs that may be running on your PC.
Don't go browsing the web while downloading--grab a book instead or write one yourself.
If possible, download after midnight--less local online traffic.
And lastly, call and ask your phone company to run a test on your line. It's free and if they detect any problems, they'll replace the line that connects to your house. Note that to ask them to run an internal test (lines inside your home) will cost you...depending on your phone Co..

is the command line thing still in the next version (as talked about in this thread)?
also is there a way to write to the log from the script (for debugging)?

And would this command line thing mean that you would be able to edit your extensions from within the game?Betelgeuse wrote:is the command line thing still in the next version (as talked about in this thread)?
