Hi,
Just wondering, has anyone tried to make the solarsystem as a mod? I'd try, but I'm still rnew to the moding of Transcendence.
Solar System?

Not necessarily. It's a bit of a catch-all term for any star and its orbiting bodies, now. If Alpha Centauri decided to generate flares, we wouldn't call them alpha centauran flares...we'd call them solar flares. Saying 'Sol' instead of 'Solar' is a quick and easy distinction.
In the timeline on the main site, George mentions that Sol is pretty much in shambles. Mars uninhabitable, etc. I would think that there would be very few stations there. Maybe a visitor's center and a war memorial, some sort of wrecked commmonwealth battleship, maybe. It could be kind of fun. Maybe an archeological dig on mars. Some sort of kitschy tourist trap in earth orbit. I can't think of much else that wouldn't be out of place.

yes but it basically requires modding the transcendence.xml to put them in
Crying is not a proper retort!

Copy everything in the SystemType tag for maybe something simple like the Elysium system to a clean fresh text file.
Remove the majority of what's already there. Probably grab a yellow star for a start. Find some planets in the Worlds module- you can match them to the graphics without too much trouble.
Now you want to set up the orbits for the inner planets and so on- just start experimenting. uses light minutes or light seconds, you can adjust to make the spacing look right, and it looks to me like you can keep adding orbits- nothing stopping you from making a very very large system. Orbital eccentricity can also be adjusted, I am not sure about the specifics atm but it's possible to set it.
To make a static system based on a model, look close into the Starton Eridani system, St. Katharines, Rigel, Charon, Point Juno- there are many easy ways to place the planet stations right where you want them. Maybe don't try for all the moons of Jupiter and Saturn.
Asteroid belts are fairly easy- look into charon and stk for some good belt samples.
Put the stargate in the Oort cloud like in the story.
You can also move the systems to a module file to make it easy to work on. (remove the SystemTypes tag entirely and place in a xml file, named it Systems.xml and put filename into the module list at the bottom of transcendence.xml. Keep the ss entites where they are at top of trans, add new ones there)

I think it would be cool to have a Sol solar system. Bear in mind though that to get to it might be going backwards away from the Iocrym and the objective of the game - the journey to the galactic core.
I'm all for it though - particularly if there are missions involved.
The game needs more missions.

I've always figured it would be in a side-branch at right angles to the main line off of St. K's. That's the way I would do it, anyway.
And yes, it would need to be plottified. That would rock.
