I'm trying learn Ubuntu Linux, and I want to be able to play my favorite game without the performance drain of WINE.
Besides, weapons officers don't let pilots fly drunk...on WINE.

I don't think a full port is necessary. It seems to me that the main performance hit should come from directx and GDI.
That said, a full port to Linux would be *EXCELLENT*, but probably post 1.0 ?

Well, I'm learning Ubuntu 7.1. And I don't really have the programming expertise (like, at all) required for such a project. I was just wondering, is all.

I've sorta been using linux since my freshman semester. I've used OpenSuse first, Ubuntu second, and am now in the Fedora platform. Now I'm getting the EeePc mini-laptop with a modified Xubuntu os. The ninth thing I want to do is run Transcendence on it. =)
