Been having one of my best/worst games to date. I'm trying for a speed run to see how fast I can run through and take out the Iocrym.

Good) Found a very early Bushido station with an Akan 60 Omni Turret! Yay! This will make the mid-game a breeze!

Bad) Turret confiscated at the next station as I totally forgot about the military restriction! Boo!

Bad) The alliance fortress seemed to show up really, REALLY late. That or the bad guys upgraded earlier than usual. I end up fighting my way through system after system of Kobol, Ventari, and even Ranx, before I can even gain my military rating! Ever try fighting a Ranx Dread with an R1 shield and twin particles? Pure bliss...

Good) Just a few systems after I finally found the alliance fortress and earned my military rating, I knock over a Kobol station which coughs up a Tev9-Omni and a Heavy Ion Gun! Woot! Endgame here I come!

Good) One system later, my R5 shields prove to be no match for the Ventari weaponry, but I have 200pt ion resistant armor, so who cares? I'm armed for bear!

Bad) I am forced to retreat back three systems with my entire weapon suite (including my precious HIC) reduced to a pile of smoking junk by the Ventari's ion weapons.

Finally got some decent shields (no invicibles in this game alas), but this Ares Archcannon still feels like a spitwad shooter compared to the Heavy Ion Cannon. Still saving up for that MT Ion blaster... So much for the fast run though...

So it goes in the annals of Trancendance!

^^^ only if you can sell it.. The only place worth selling armor and weapons to is Thor's and my last game there was only one of those in the entire game. All other places rip you off big time. :)

I think ventari are a bit overpowered. Or the blue etherium is.
When you have it, mid-late game is a piece of cake.
When you don't have it, you must fear 1. the dwarg for stun-blasting you 2. the ares for toasting you with ligthning power 3. the ventari for crumbling your best primary weapon to dust and turning your devices to piles of rubbish.

maybe it is intended that you flee from a ventari on sight, because the ion disruptor is quite long range, but I think its a bit unfair that the can even pierce the best ion resistant shield and armor to damage your preciouse devices...

What do you think about the endless stream of spawns ?

What about modding wandering spawns which dont attack the player directly ?

I believe you want dyon dust to help with that?

I think that blue etherium is overpowered. Either that or the Dwarg+Ares+Ventari underpowered, but not Dwarg+Ares+Ventari overpowered.

by adding secondary weapons to Dwarg+Ares+Ventari with diversified weapon damage would make the blue etherium less powerful, but will certainly make Dwarg+Ares+Ventari overpowered. :?

The correct equilibrium is hard to get when you have to rely only on 3-4 weapon damage types for all the foes in late game

Dwarg cydocyst could be less precise haunting missles
ares are relativly weak versus blast damage
ventari ion disrupter could have only a small chance to destroy non critical devices like patch spiders, solar colectors or collimators, but not erasing the enhancements from your weapons.
