In Transcendence there are references to a large quantity of foods, what are your impressions on them ?

Is megathere delicious like everybody tell us ? isn't it just like a giant cow ?

In ancient Greek mythology, ambrosia is sometimes the food, sometimes the drink, of the gods (from wikipedia :D )
Isn't a bit presumptuous for the Ringers to call like this their porridge ?
Maybe Ringer Ambrosia is just a supercereal, like quinoa.

Personally I am a bit annoyed to eat always salmon at the Hotel, so here comes the Food Recipes Topic to the rescue !
Everybody lets make recipes or dishes for the Hotel (and hope that George will add them to a random dinner code) :D

My dish:
Delicious megathere steak with a sidedish of Centauri Rice sprinkled with Ringer Ambrosia.

Other questions (asked also in the IRC channel):
what the Teratons would eat ?
and the Ferians ?
Ringers eat Ambrosia, even if Ttech said that they could eat chicken also, because everybody eats chicken, or spaghetti.

what the Teratons would eat ?

I always assumed that they ate, er, "soylent green" (IE, that they ate other human beings).

I also assumed that the ringers ate an almost-no-meat diet. You've seen their stations, right? they're all great big zero G greenhouses! Ringers have adapted to zero g, so only zero-g adapted livetock would be useful to them. If you wanted to eat chicken, first you'd have to breed or make a zero-g chicken

I imagine that at least some level of corporate food has made to the future. I'd just hit McDonatellos or something.. Jack in the hyperspace cube. Burger overlord.. etc..

Well, to live at zero-G the major problem is myogenesis and osteogenesis (muscles and bones grow), it seems that gravity itself has a role in bones and muscles generation during life. (or even for the directionality of plant growing for example)

We already have a prototype myostatin (GDF-8 ) inhibitor.

Some Bone morphogenetic proteins are already known, I don't think it will take a lot to find some inhibitors.

I don't see Ringer foods making it to a CW hotel.
