I have been going through the massive amounts of data that the modders have compiled and this place needs a wiki.
I don't normally do this kind of thing, you know make suggestions and display strong opinions about things that I think could be different/better, on forum boards. But the search engine of this portal is on sun dial and it needs to be on stop watch!
A modders wiki should be separate from this board, make the wiki about the modding and leave the forums for chatting and sharing. Forums are lousy for tutorials and organizing of data like screen shots, first off you have to code out everything in a post, including code??? I would guess that the wiki idea has been kicked around so details are probably redundant. I would know for sure if I could tolerate the sun dial.

This wiki is sorta free, for a couple bucks you can buy a good one and host it anywhere with an SQL or Access DB running it. I don't think there is enough data for a paid wiki. A free one would do it.
I know I know, I have worked in the corporate sector long enough to know that if you present an idea you had best be prepared to see it through to fruition and production.
Alas, thanks to that corporate job all I have time to do is a little research and suggest positive change that allows for exponential growth and to recommend such change before the task is too formidable to be reasonably done for free by volunteers/fans of the hosts very cool product.
lol
Peace

I haven't been a big fan of putting a bunch of data about modding on some other disconnected website, because I would prefer to see any mod library type of data on the main site first, which seems to be coming along in slow stages.
However, Isn't it possible to just extend and expand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcendence_(video_game)?

The Library Link has been dead for a long time
And as far as I know Ttech was planning something along the lines of a wiki!
And yeah it's a problem that someone builds something up and then let it discontinue without giving the raw data to someone else

Well, how about Xelerus?
And if I had the actual URL that the Library Link points too I might be able to find it. I think the company that took over pbwiki might still have the transcendence wiki somewhere.

Don't call it Transwiki for chrissakes
You'll get a completely different line of visitors:
"Sapphire Yacht... who's that... some new shemale?"

my mind doesn't work like that, but I am glad yours does.
a modder is as a modder does.
'Fraid so. I'm a disgrace to the human race, but I blame three years working at a casino and two years working at the post office for my mental unbalances.Lv4snobrdg wrote:LOLCardinal wrote:Don't call it Transwiki for chrissakes

What about Wikia? I've seen a lot of games (GalCiv2, Dwarf Fortress, to name a few) hosting their editable content here, why not request a Wiki there?

It's free, but you do have to get approval to create your Wiki. Probably trivial, just a way to keep from duplicating efforts and keeping things legit.
