I'm playing through RC2, and I just had an interesting experience with Korvlov. By some twist of fate, I was assigned to escort a freighter to a station at the exact same time another NPC freighter & escort left for the exact same place! It was pretty cool, we brought down a Centauri (umm...) BigThingAMaBober what shoots missiles & big kinetic guns. I was playing a freighter (that's right, a freighter escorting a bigger freighter) and the NPC was a Centurion.
Is this intended behavior? It should be, because it makes sense (strength in numbers) and it's pretty darn cool.
Doubling up on Korvlov missions?

This isn't explicitly intended behavior, but freighters come and go on their own schedules and this may overlap with yours.
As of RC2, freighters never lose NPC escorts (Ronins, Wolfens and Centurions) at the end of missions, which means that in a system with a Korolov station that's been running for a while, some Korolov freighters may have up to four or five NPC escorts yet still pay the player to escort them. I believe that this has been reported as a bug.

This should be a feature in future versions. Perhaps even allow freighters carrying super-special stuff to hire multiple escorts. Like if there was a freighter carrying some sort of new component for the lamplighter, or coffee cups for the vending machines on the CSC Terra.

Yeah, it happened to me too, but I was escorting a freighter and there was a ronin and a centurion that escorted the same freighter!
If you cannot say something nice about somebody, you better don't say anything.
