Well, George and the community seem to be scrambling to put together a bunch of pages related to Transcendence, ie. the new Facebook page, and SpacMan's Digg page.
So I was just wondering if I should do some sort of "trailer" for Transcendence in Flash, and submit it to Newgrounds. This is actually something I would be capable of doing, as I have a lot of experience in Flash.
Basically it would play like a trailer for a movie, maybe have a couple of scenes where a Sapphire yacht is battling a Ranx Dreadnought or something, with a few hints to the story in it.
Blegh. I feel like I'm rambling. I'll start on it, and if my estimation skills are any good (which they are not) I could have something half-decent looking finished by the end of the week.
So thoughts?

I've always been a fan of the art and style of Transcendence. There are a few wallpapers already, but they are relatively low resolution and not as dramatic as they could be. Some high-res renders of some of the more gorgeous bits of Trans, arranged artfully, can be a good promotion.
EDIT: And I'm not just talking about arranging the in-game assets, I'm thinking of actually appropriating some of the great 3D models themselves, and arranging them into interesting scenes, as can be seen in the forum header and in other places on the site.
At the very least, we can come up with some pretty good minimalist galaxy-and-text wallpaper. I've messed around a little with Moromisato's Luminous, and it's pretty easy to make an attractive spiral galaxy. I do remember having some issues in rendering very large resolution galaxies, however.

... I think I know what you're talking about... I've got some half-finished promo art for TX2 (beyond my early experiments; this one has the CW monitors in it); if I can find it I'll throw it on the board later and see if its what you meant.

I hadn't seen these already:
http://neurohack.com/transcendence/desktop/index.html
These are quite good, but I'd like to see some with some action. Let's see that Sapphire taking out a raider base, for instance!
I'd also like to see higher resolutions (I've been running at 1600x1200 for at least seven years).

Well, if we've got any designers who can do 3D animation, we might be able to have some space battle movie things.....I've seen it done for other games by fans (As a good example, google "IDF Patrol Pardus" and look at the video results. Those are old (like....maybe 3-5 years old?) fan-work for Pardus..which I play). If we could do something exciting, with HUGE explosions (heck, have a high-detail exploding phobos at full screen, complete with debris bits. That oughta be close to good enough
...we might just be cooking.

I could do that with my tx2 ships... I've got enough (in theory...)... I'd just need to learn to make weapon effects and explosions....

Actually, guys, I was just going to do Vector art of the ships, animating them frame-by-frame...
Though it does make more sense to do it in 3d. I can probably get some half-decent models of the playerships done up.
Since you guys seem to want it animated with 3d models, I can do that too.

The New Zealand Net Guide did a review of Transcendence when it was at 99c (if it were not for that i might not be here) so i might "tip" them about the release of 1.0 and i might tell the nz pc world about it too

If anyone creates a facebook group, I'll join it.
If there was a good review of Transcendence posted somewhere, I'd link it on digg.com it and do what I could to get it dugg up. If a bunch of people here all dugg it in a relatively short time it would probably make some of the main pages as a fast riser and get a lot of exposure.
