Woo!

I finally managed to finish this $^&%# game!

Not that I'm complaining - I've loved every minute of it, even when I was being destroyed left, right and center...

I've been playing since well before 1.00, and this is the first time I've ever managed to complete not one, but three of the missions in the final system, and finally managed to accrue enough firepower to be able to blow away those nasty blueys there.

Took me several attempts to get rid of the "final boss", but once I figured out when and where to strike, I managed to take him down.

Thanks George, for such a great game. Bring on Part II! :-)

Cheers,

Nestyr

What I have found that works for me is to keep (or get) a miner's cargo hold and a good mining laser through the game. It's incredibly useful to be able to mine the more exotic minerals and sell them to Ringers for lots of Rin later in the game, so you can get those needed purchases to be able to take on the bigger nasties (or just to be able to afford fuel later in the game, if you can't get it for free!).

Next challenge - get through the game without having to use (non-insurance) resurrection...

Cheers,

Nestyr

Whoops!

I was using "mining laser" as a generic term for the various mining options in the game (forgetting the base one is called a "mining laser" - duh).

I heartily recommend the plasma torch as the mining tool of choice! :-)

I almost completed the game (again) and well, Transcendence started giving me memory errors. Though I hardly think it was transcendence causing the issues.
