I found out that TVR's ICX Overhaul lets me perform skywriting (spacewriting?). Unfortunately the anti-beam attenuator puffs don't last long enough.

Lol XD
Yeah, it's the beam attenuator. You can also skywrite with Nyancat

So, to continue in the same vein. Still haven't died in this campaign. Up to Sanctuary now & making money hand over fist.
One of the things I love more than anything about Transcendence is how mods interact to create an ever-more-complex simulation of a thriving economy/a living game world/immersive experience. I was stashing hundreds of tons of ore that I'd mined, then made ingots of (MiningPack) in a crate near St. Katharine's Star that no Corporate Enclave or Commonwealth Station was willing to take off my hands. I'd also been regularly saving up money using Star Weaver's Universal Savings Bank mod (up to 4 million right now!).
My inventory was getting quite unweildy, even though money wasn't a problem anymore. And saving up Xenotite and more advanced resources to trade for Rin wasn't necessary since the Bank lets you convert credits into Rin at a rate of 4:1 and I had credits to burn.
So then I decided to install RPC's Wave Transceiver device and established trade connections with some Antares & Scarab (super)freighters in the St. Kat's system. So I sold off MUCH of my excess loot, earning over a million credits in the process, half of which went back into the bank. Funny... now I actually find myself DOING BUSINESS in St. Kat's, the way the game tells me is happening (as it is a main trading hub).
Huh.
In other news, I got myself another (Playership Drones by PM!) ship, a Typhoon Heavy Fighter (from Northwind Ships by Atarlost) because I'd found two great new Blast-type weapons & a Makayev Enhancer (Weapons Extended 5 by Digdug & Atarlost). VERY nice ship. Fast, nimble, lots of slots for devices but unfortunately it can't install some heavy devices like the advanced Long-Range Scanner (advLRS by RPC). Seems balanced
So this is the beginning of a small imperium, three ships tag-teaming through the galaxy, journeying ever core-ward.
LOVE THIS GAME <3
I'm cross-posting this to the Transcendence Facebook group, which needs more members:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/NeurohackTranscendence/
*EDIT*
Idea for balancing out the very useful Misc devices (Raw Materials Processor from MiningPack by yours truly & TransFeek; Wave Transceiver by RPC):
If we make those devices weigh 5 tons(+), and modders who make playerships use the same restriction on combat-oriented ships that Atarlost did (no misc devices of 5(?) tons or more), you can really separate out the combat ships from the freighters/trade vessels. Hmmmm.

Just noticed:
The Ferians are safe from my predations this campaign, which has not been the case for a while now. I've got more than enough money, fuel & resources... and good enough weapons that I don't need to farm Ferian Warriors for their plasma blasters (Weapons Extended 5 by digdug/Atarlost).
Interesting... find new ways to make money and get stuff/tools/resources and suddenly I'm not as interested in killing harmless Ferian miners. Sorta painful realization that I played the game in "ultracapitalist" mode instead of "creative entrepreneur" mode for so long. Those poor Ferians...
Interesting implications, once again, about how my Transcendence playthroughs reflect my daily life/thinking, and how it is potentially an educational tool for people of all ages.

NP, I'm making a public snapshot from my DropBox folder so you and others can play it. It'll help me iron out bugs, insure inter-mod compatibility...
...and help me help other modders, because I'm always looking for the places where others' mods intersect with each other and how they could make-or-break the game.
For example, TVR's ICXmod uses the same hotkey for one of its ROMs ("0") as the Wave Transceiver... that sorta thing.
*edit* also sorry for miscrediting mods!

I've never killed a Ferian, and I try to defend them when I see them attacked.WillyTheSquid wrote:Just noticed:

The Huari I don't mind killing though. Maybe because they're only too happy to kill you first.
I found something interesting. Look at the red circles. Asteroids appears on radar with delay :< it's bug ?
Older versions of the game had no problems with fuel graphics and radar

The Gravitometric Repulsor Field Generator (X2), a novel anti-missile defence system which can be found in the "PDmod" ICX Overhaul.
