Why do we play and mod and get addicted to this game? Here are some of my reasons.
1. Boredom. I am stuck running a third rate motel on 4th st in Reno. My clients are the ones you see on cops or Worlds Dumbest. A good day for me is one I don't discover a new smell or body fluid. So since I hate most of TV I spend a lot of time on games.
2. Mods. First off I have long wondered what it would be like to run The Defiant. Galactica or Andromeda and now I can cross them off my bucket list. Also Mods have awoken my inner computer geek and allowed me to become frustrated and angry at something other then Reno.
3.The Variety of Play styles. I have 3 transcendence folders. One is for a quick blow the bejesus out of everything just to release tension. I like to take God ships and blow up everything until Charon. It releases the tension. Two is for Modding and the third is a vanilla so I can just wander the universe without the need to blow everything up.
4. It is in my top two after Ur Quan Masters.
I am just curious. Why Do you play Transcendence?

What with the lights, sirens, computers and hot chicks with big boobs trying to talk you out of a speeding ticket? Yeah I know the hot chick is actually a 23 yr old meth head who looks like a tree branch with a tooth trying to talk her way out of a hooker ticket. But I understand. 'Lost: I'm still a kid, so I have to clean it up or my mom does (the way she does it makes it worthwhile to clean it up personally)

It fills my need for an open-world game that I can dick around in whenever I've got some time. Our computer is in sight of the TV, so it's a handy distraction if my wife's got something particularly girly on and I have nowhere else to be.
Mine is addicted to Clean House, Mike Holmes and the rest of the do-gooders. But when she puts on a old movie she says is great that is my cue. Learned my lesson after Meet Me in St Louis.
