Just an easy way to win this mission.
1)Use "Sustain" and attack them in the middle.
2)Then run as fast as you can to the middle of the heretic sun.(This must me done when the iocrym manipulators are still working)
3)Wait for them to come and then hit auto pilot untill they are dead.
"To kill the ship with the artefact, just lure it to a Iocrym Outpost.The Iocrym will do the job for you.""

ooooooo : you mean the Taikon Station mission with the screaming tower.
IF I think I am " game " I get their attention and let them come for me : run to the biggest rock I can find near the Taikon or Ringers and wait while they kill them all so I can loot
using the sun is cool but the manipulators can destroy your wrecks and lower your loot.
What I do is this :
first: scan the field for outposts: find them :
take the Taikon station mission to go after the Ark : sit on something safe like the control station an auto pilot while watching the Ark run around : the Ark should loose it's defenders by the second outpost : rarely does one outpost take out the Xenophobes all at once.
Then go after the Ark by itself or go loot the wreck :
after you drop the tower and get the ROM : go to the Ringers : the Iocrym are on the way either way you do it : and since NOBODY will fight the Explorer, it is after you and only you : your best off leaving it for second unless you can kill it when you meet it.
I have sat on the sun pinging Iocrym with a Tev9 and using the manipulators to help break them open : but the longer you sit the more come. and if the manipulators are on and they usually would be If your watching more Iocrym come at you : looting wrecks looking for a ROM or goodies gets difficult.

Yes, a good technique. "Enemy of my Enemy is also a enemy".
But using ringer's help to kill the xenephon's endangers the station too.
I find it better when i saved all the research stations.Just blasted the Iocrym Sentinels with my Lamlighter and the Quianlong Archcannon.
