An old Sega Genesis game would be the precursor game to trans. It starts out at the company station. you hire and train a crew. Name your space ship, add engines, cargo pods, weapon, shield, and other parts. You have a small rover called a TV that you drive around when you land on planets and mine for metals. This would make a good game but add some aspects from trans and other such games such as X beyond and free lancer and Wazzel you might have a really good game. Too many ideas I need to put together coherently meltdown.
New Parts and ship upgrades: Reactors
Reactors: Fission reactor 50mw 1000credits uses uranium fuel rods.
Breeder reactor turns uranium fuel rods and make plutonium 100 mw 1500credits
light breeder takes thorium and makes uranium fuel rods. Burns thorium fuel rods and uranium fuel rods. 150mw cost 2000 credits
Endurium breeder: takes plutonium and makes Endurium fuel. Cost 2500 makes 200MW
Endurium reactor make 500MW cost 3000 credits consumes fuel once per hour.
N WAVE REACTOR: Takes any radioactive fuel and makes 600MW power and cost 3500 credits
Focus fusion reactor: fuel by hydrogen breeds into helium fuel rods 250MW 2500 credits
Two stage fusion reactor: Input hydrogen makes helium and lithium fuel rods. 300MW 3000 credits
3 Stage Fusion Reactor: converts hydrogen up to Carbon. 400 MW 4000 Credits
4 stage reactor: makes oxygen from hydrogen makes 500MW cost 5000 credits.
Engines:
Photon engine: works slowly consumes 10MW of power for average thrust over 1 minute. 100 credits
Endurium Engine: consumes one endurium over 10 light years Very fast. 50 credits makes 100 MW power
Contra Terrene engine about as fast as a tritium fusion engine consumes hydrogen 1 per 100 light years. Cost 200 credits Makes 500MW power.
2 Dimensional matter engine cost 3000 credits uses 1 MW twice as fast as best engine In transcendence also acts without inertia.
Shield generators:
Neutrino shield uses 100MW has 1,000,000 points and cost 10,000c
Add on parts: fuel tanks: double fuel capacity of any reactor
or holds 10,000 fuel - 100,000,000 depending on teseract expansion.
Shields allow landing on planets but each shield goes down by x points.
Armor:
Faustian: makes 100MW in sunlight, has 1000 AP and doubles shield strength. 5,000c resist most weapon types 100%
Xentium: regrows in sunlight has 100,000,000ap cost 1,000,000. Reduces damage from all weapons by 90%
Rover:
upgrades:
cargo pods
mining rig
heavy armor
fuel tanks
gas miner
radar
gun
laser
Starflight

Doing nothing here.
This sounds very interesting, you should play the game a few times and create a mod.
Some of your suggestions already exist to some degree ingame or in mods; try xelerus.de
Maybe someday you can write your own mods

Goes back a fair bit before Sega ever got hold of it and created thier cobbled together unfinished version.
That being said, it would be fairly easy to map the Starflight toys and ships to Trans.
5 classes each of engines, armour and shields.
About 10-or-so weapons in varying flavours. (The Sega version had tons of different kinds, the other had lasers and missiles only.)
A whole mess of assorted minable minerals of which some can be used to create the above (or items to repair them).
Plenty of enemy ships to model if the desire takes you.
Forget about the whole lander side, that won't fit in Trans. at all.
