so. corporate command is out and i was one of the lucky few to snag a free copy :D
big thanks to george!
i was thinking that all the guys playing cc could discuss their stuff about corporate command over here since there isnt a place as far as i know to do just that.
i was wondering whats the scene with those chimera guys, i've only seen them three times in the game so far. and i'm one system away from heretic. i think i might have missed something somewhere along the way..
oh and for you guys who like the bunker buster of a mark v howitzer, you're in for a surprise :D
lets just say its possible to get 450 thermo mass destruction damage in a neat and cool looking big gun :D i think its better than the APA since its enhanceable. i scoured all the trade posts just to get some 15 tritium injectors :D
though one thing i dont like is that you can only have one added device. the freyr class has enough device slots, but i cant install both a particle enhancer and a blast enhancer at the same time. i remember there was once a time where i could do this on the older versions.
and whats the scene with those omnithor guys? their ships looked scary the first time i saw them but not they all die in 2-3 shots. and their bases never seem to have any loot. i think i might be missing a huge chunk of the game here. and wheres that naseer guy who blew me up when we were trying to take down the chimera station ?

What is the deal with stocks after for St. Kat's and Outer Realms? I am destroying stations b/w St. K and JS system, but no increase in investment is noted.

Also, I think my mission thing messed up, because after I blew up the first Chimera Stronghold in Anaxa, I didn't see Kate or Anssar show up to give me another quest? (I didn't find them again until after Pt. Juno, by then the Chimera story seems to have either jumped a step or maybe I am overlooking it?)

Also the Chimeras are quite strong for a system found b/w St. K and JS due to their secondary weapons.., I skipped that quest until I had lvl 10 armors and lvl 9 weapons from past Juno before safely taking care of the escorts around the Chimera Stronghold and then the Stronghold itself.

Apparently stocks were seriously overpowered in the beta, allowing massive cash farming.

Unfortunately, the fixes for this have made them largely useless. Better just to go for missions in the midgame....a simple "destroy station" mission from the corporates gets you 15,000cr and easily bumps you towards higher corporate positions, with very concrete bonuses.

i agree they do seem to be highly overpowered. ion weapons and plasma tracking missiles. best keep a safe distance or have something that can wipe out swarms fast (insert omni enhanced weapon here)

the second chimera mission is the one with anton nasser kate morgental if im not mistaken. i found that one a bit too difficult on the first try so i went and blasted the holy moly out of the station with a howitzer, mark VII or a mark V repeater i think, from around 100ls out. the swarms of enemies didnt even reach me before it went boom. but then when the two allies went to dock with the station there were still hordes of chimera ships flying about and their plasma missiles sort of blew up kate's ship... so i think thats what killed the third mission for me..
im doing another playthrough, luckily this time i didnt get the bug where i got stuck to the howitzer firing end of anton's cruiser so i survived the first mission

the stock seen to be quite useless. i put in around 10,000 (around 500 shares) credits into the minx stock, destroyed about 4-5 mining asteroids and the stock values went up by a miniscule amount, less than 1000. stocks dont quite do it for me.
in the last playthrough i managed to buy 1 million wirth of shares in the outer realm stock. i should go back and check if theres anything profitable.
and whats with them charging 1 credit per share? with such low returns it seems very pointless. you barely get even 10% returns after taking the risk of attacking all those stations..

in my first playthrough i've only seen a grand total of two corporate metropolis stations, i mean the one icarus station and one more station on the way back to eridani. i didnt get past the privateer rank and maybe thats why the rest of the cc missions werent available to me. how many of these corporate stations are there supposed to be?

The first chimera mission is a doddle. Snipe the hornets from range. The second is harder...I used an auton swarm to distract them and let Anton shoot everything down. Haven't done any later stuff with them.

The problem with stocks now is the one credit per share tax eats all your profit and more. The only way to profit from stocks is to blow up stations to temporarily raise the price (or lower them in case of Sung or Ares) then do whatever transactions before the relevant stocks decay back to the 19.50 to 20.50 range. Think of the stock market as an awkward combo meter from a fighting game. Only those with intimate spoiler knowledge and understanding (akin to Teraton fabricator) and planning have a chance to profit from the stock market.
Download and Play in 1.9 beta 1...
Drake Technologies (Alpha): More hardware for combat in parts 1 and 2!
Star Castle Arcade: Play a classic arcade game adventure, with or without more features (like powerups)!
Playership Drones: Buy or restore exotic ships to command!

Other playable mods from 1.8 and 1.7, waiting to be updated...
Godmode v3 (WIP): Dev/cheat tool compatible with D&O parts 1 or 2.

Even then, in the Constellation it's entirely possible to blow up stations, but have the prices decay back to below the original value before you've gotten back across the system.
