The Succession is like regular Transcendence, except with a boatload of mods and players on the same save file, each taking a turn and then posting the save for the next player via Xelerus, all with the alleged goal of getting to Heretic on one life.

This is the seventh time we've done a succession game - hopefully to be as interesting as the last.

There is a bit to decide on before we start, though. Please post the mods and other things you would want in Succession #7, we'll vote on them and the above TBD options shortly.

CC should only be decided after everyone interested has commented, and if not everyone there has, or will get CC by the time we start, then we won't use CC, otherwise. of course we will!

Mods:
PSD 6+ Allowing players to have personal ships is a mainstay of succession, and allows us to have a freigher for all our loot.
Omni+ because FFAS.
Dynamic Systems, if it works with 1.3, I have not tested, but in general we want it.
Hayari Noosphere, Challenge mod, compatible with 1.3
Crystal Clear + Extreme Iocrym, get this mod from RPC or me, it combines lovely graphics with "more fun" boss.
Utility Items, RPC's Rotolooter and Autopilot mod, this is a must have mod for me.
Repair Droids, patch spiders except better.
HDStargates, eyecandy stargates which actually fit a freighter, Aquila, or Phobos

In addition any graphics, sound, item, or gameplay changing mods which are stable and you want, things like WE, economy tweaks, better salvager nomads, whatever.

May I suggest Beyond the Mainline? It would be interesting to see how a group of players handles navigation through a more complex topology :)

If it is included, I offer to search for a seed value that creates a nice looking layout of systems (not needed, but it may help).

@Sun yes but it's not guaranteed that everybody in the succession has CC so they might not be able to play :(

No worries, RPC, I will be voting for a start date at least 3 weeks from now. There are quite a few options to vote on and potential issues to resolve until then, compatibilities between mods and 1.3, for example.

Quick note: I will update PSD6+ soon. Aside from some bug fixes, there will be another option in game settings called "Succession" or "Free Ships". Details are not set yet, but so far, it spawns an EI200 and enables the "Free <ship>" option at shipyards. Free ship may be used a few times before it disappears.

Update on "Free Ships" setting: Player can set it from 0 to 4, and when he visits a shipyard before St. K's, he can 'Claim free ship' up to the limit set. The idea is the team can get a freighter and up to three more ships for other players without the need to save up a ton of credits for ships. The free ships are available only in the New Beyond (system level 3 or less) so that a player cannot take a fast ship, dive to Ringer space and grab ships with endgame gear.

If starting at Tau Ceti, it is possible the earliest shipyard found may be at Rigel/Battle Arena. If ye want a free freighter spawned immediately after leaving game settings, I will add that (back) in. (To be honest, if the point of the freighter is simply to haul stuff, just cut the middleman and add my Bag of Holding mod instead.)
