I am in the starsystem after point junto(with the europa wreck)
and when a ship atacks me,my screen lags really much. Then you see smoke-like particles in slowmotion moving away from the ship.
I have no idea if this has to do with the mods i installed or that my hardware is lacking.
I use transcendence 1.2
and the following mods:
bag of holding
options
hive behaviour ai
master thinker
ore graphics
commonwealth investment
stronger sharon
my pc specs
ram:1gb
cpu: pentium 4 2.8 ghz
videocard: onboard 32mb shared something something

I can't comment on the mods, but your PC spec is a little low. Which OS are you using?Lightvader wrote:

You should be able to find an option to increase the shared video memory in the BIOS settings. That and doubling (at least) RAM should make a big difference, and not only to Trans

You might have been right on the border of running out of ram. Sounds like generating the particle effects was all it took to push the ram over the edge and force it to resort to the page file

in the past, systems with lots of dwargs caused lag on old computers due to the pathfinding route calculations. (but I believe George changed those).
Systems with lots of asteroids and Ferian miners can cause lag due to spaceobject crowding on old computers.
What system are you in ?
Do you have lag with any previous version of the game ?
Can you try to remove all your mods and run the game ?

Removing the mods results in an unplayable save file. Did you mean start over without mods? This happens at an ares colony that uses positron particles if this helps any.
I will start a new game to see if i get similar problems in the same system.
i managed to go out of the system ,and weirdly,this doesnt happen in the other system.
I didnt have any lags in the 1.1 version.

I found the problem. It was a mod and also my fault. I forgot to mention i used http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=1168 as well ,and i installed 2 icx devices on my ship. The next starsystem didnt have many enemies,so it didnt trigger both. I uninstalled one,and i dont have heavy lags anymore.
