My Windows is at 800x600 resolution (this is intentional). With the new version defaulting to non-dx, the resolution of the game screen extends beyond my screen, meaning the bottom and right parts of the game are cut off.
The /dx switch works fine though.

You might have to just change your screen resolution before you play. This may seem irritating, but it is one of the best ways. Another way is to buy a cheap VGA splitter (or if you video card has 2 inputs) And set up 2 monitors, (Win 98 and up) which each can have their own resolutions and your mouse can move freely between them (its like having an extra-wide monitor).
Ugh, your reply reminds me of the following joke:
- Doctor, it hurts when I do *this*
- Well, then don't do *that*!
I'm well aware I can change the res, the point is that I shouldn't really have to be doing that. It's not a critical bug, but it's something that at one point or another the program should do rather than the user.

Agreed. The simplest fix is for the program to detect that you are in a resolution less than 1024x768 and invoke the /dx switch automatically. Thanks.Elvarg wrote:It's not a critical bug, but it's something that at one point or another the program should do rather than the user.
If it helps to know, I have a similar problem when using a resolution of 1400x1050. The new/continue/quit screen renders, albeit in a letterboxy kind of way, but the game appears to interpret mouse events as if the game were rendering in the normal fullscreen way.
