Transcendence

it started out as a usual mission "protect the superfreight with ore". I sitting next to the CSC watching the ore freighter get withing a couple inches of the CSC on my screen and then- WHAM! a FRIENDLY phobos dreadnaught and a few enemy sandstorms come flying out of the blue, the superfrieghtor is caught in the crossfire, the sandstorms get blown out of the air, the phobos locks up and gets stuck patrolling around a nearby corperate trading post, and the CSC crew says "excellent mission! your quick reactions saved millions of lives aboard this station!" or something like that. And I'm like...

Any mods running?

Well I don't know anything about the friendly phobos, but I do know why you got rewarded (I think).

The mission was a plot by whoever owned the frieghter to destroy the station. The frieghter was a flying bomb, set to blow up when it docked. I had it happen once. It totaly surprised me. Needless to say, I lost that mission. It tells you to destoy the frieghter about three seconds out from docking.

Anyhow, as far as I can tell, that is what happens for the mission. As for the friendly, I haven't the slightest idea.

yes, i do have mods running, but the only thing that would cause that phobos to appear is the debug drydock, but i censored it out. i also used a system map rom in that system, so it's not possible for it to have existed if it never showed up. anyway, the phobos would have patroled the dry dock, not go flying off to patrol another station.

Maybe you just had incredible luck. Anyway, the mission is gone now, I've looked through the XML.
