Rocks that shoot back

inspired by Vastin's comment on how mining isn't as fun due to the rocks not shooting back I have come up with an idea.
Certain asteroids should have a small chance of exploding when hit with certain types of weapons.
That way you could try to lure enemies you couldn't defeat normally to asteroids hoping that they explode.
This would be a much more interesting way of destroying the Iocrym than the way we have now.

lure the iocrym into a dense asteroid field then.... BOOM!
BTW- pteracnium ore should be volatile like the fuel rods. So asteroids containing it should have a chance at blowing up... and potentially causing a chain reaction. Ferian farming just got more fun.... (although the ensuing explosion might just shatter all the wrecks...

Aren't ejecta chain reactions enough? I destroyed a commonwealth slum accidientaly by firing a Driller 5000 (Stephinian plasma torch) into a few rocks and watching things escalate.

Eliminated chain reactions from asteroid ejecta. [Thanks to Cardinal]
