Magical Spinning Ships and Odd Screen Resolutions

I'm not sure what happened, but after going through a few Stargates my ship spins in circles as soon as it comes out of the gate and continues spinning until I hit an arrow key. I have the save file if its necessary, but I've never seen this before with this version.

On Netbook screen resolution (10in) the game play works relatively well aside from the main menu which is cut off and navigation arrows (no targeting program) which get cut off on the right, upper and bottom parts of the screen is it possible to fix this issue for netbooks? But most of it works aside from those two things. I'll attach screenshots when I get a chance.

is the spinning ship thing consistent? And if it's a laptop type keyboard you are using, those have a higher change of having bizarre side affects... (my pentium M laptop will delete everything you've typed up to a certain point in any text field if you press ""j" then "g" in that order, very fast. This particular keyboard I'm using right now, the arrow keys will be unresponsive if you press two at the same time, which makes playing transcendence very hard.

of the two laptop keyboards i've seen, the keyboard won't recognize more than two normal keypresses(no turn, move, and shoot, only 2 of them.) using a third party program to change the shift key to space solved it fine.

as for the screen being cut-off, would using the directx switch scale the game to fit?

you can also spin playership crazily fast by holding right or left arrow key then pressing A

I'll try the DirectX switch and see if that helps. Although there were no other key presses other then g when I went through the gate the ship was completly stationary and then I moved to another gate and the same issue.

-------------

And on a side note, in the Charon system keeps giving me a error message on the dock screen after I managed to save the station from the pirates.

DirectX fails with DirectX installed...
It says its not installed, but I checked.
