After (more or less) three hours of playing the game crashed while I was entering a stargate. The error reported in the log file is:

Hmm... It never happened before adding the mods. Still... the bug happens usually after a long playing and always in different systems (I have already experieced it some times). Further ideas?
I've had crashes while gating as well and the debug stated the same reason. But, I know why my game crashed at one point. It was because of those friendy armed transports that keep docking with my mule auton. The crash happens whenever I go to jump to the next system while one of those transports are docked with the mule.
Not sure if this would help anywhere, but one time while the transport was docked with my mule during my jump, the game didn't crash but there was a peculiar oddity occurring after the jump to the next system....My mule was dragging the sun around! It was attached to my mule! It looked kinda funny and all but I knew there was a problem. I had solar panels installed so I was kept well supplied with fuel throughout that system, but when I went to jump to the next, then the game crashed and would not load again.

In my case usually the game reload but, I'm required to "resurrect" in the same system where game chrashed. Thus the game restart a step "before" if I have already explored all the system. It's a bit annoying.

I guess to that the problem must be in some random staff the game use only in rare occasions, like a kind of random enemy. But which one? I don't know how to debug. Any suggestion?
To FAD: thanks for the suggestion but, I never use the mule (it has the bad habit of always been in between an enemy and my omnidirectional flame green blaster...

I am running into the same problem. First time it happened my game was completly fresh with no mods. The debug file too gives the exact same output with or without mods. Every time it is something concerning a "dwarg master" firing. It too happens at the menu screen if the "dwarg master" is shown the game crashes. So the game crashes on an instant if you try to gate to a system where such a ship is present or it crashes when a dm jumps into the system you are (I dont know if the presence alone is responsible or a weapon it uses as every time the game crashes it usualy is fighting).
I sent the programer my debug file yesterday btw.
PS: Any clue for a workaround? iE is it possible to disable this ship or the specific weapon that causes the crash by myself?

perhaps it has something to do with seeking weapons(cytocysts) no longer being able to find the player?
It has happened to me too. There was one time where I went from 0 to 10 resurrects after trying to go through a gate multiple times. There was Dwarg in that system. Any other times It happened the bug wasn't repeatable.

Well I dont know the game that well yet. The bug repeats itself whenever I encounter such a ship. From what I can gather from the debug it isnt caused by the player ship beeing lost as it seems that the bug happens in the intro too and when I am not near one of them (on entering the system). Sometimes the debug gives out my ship beeing the target other times its just some random battle going on somewhere in the system. It just crashes the game the worst about it is that at some times I reenter the new system and thus loose any possiblity on playing on as the save will crash the instant it loads.

I believe I have a fix for this problem. I should be able to release a fixed soon.
I'm still getting the problem with those friendly transports docked with my mule when I jump--which causes those strange oddities to occur. This time the mule didn't drag the sun around but instead, it was an asteroid! It caused the game to crash when trying to jump again.
