Well, I guess I could upload what I have so far onto something like fileplanet, but the mod is too big for xelerus.
Also, there are a number of unnecessary and unused files, but I'd have to comb through and remove them...

I'll resume working on this in june
Also, I'd like to make a couple announcements:
first off, I'm moving my forums to here: http://eternalmodding.50.forumer.com/index.php
secondly, this mod will contain no post-heretic elements until AFTER 2009

The ranx imperial dragon:

The largest (though only by a little bit in comparison to their dreadnought) and most impressive ship in the ranx fleet, it is equipped with an antimatter howitzer as well as 6 turreted ranx gauss cannons and a repeller turrets. A random encounter with one is extremely rare: the two definite sightings will be in the ranx homesystem and in stk.kats at the embassy. A couple will also pop up in the battles for the sung/ranx warlord centers of operations (these battles being tied in with the Ranx story-line) and the battle for the ares capital (but they and the rest of the ranx fleet only appear if you complete the ranx story-line first: you can get up to 5 fleets here: Ranx (drive out sung and kill warlords main base), CW (gauranteed- you have to be in their fleet for this mission to start anyways), IPC (beat the solarites), Charon shadows (drive out the house of charon from the charon system (which has suddenly been boosted to a high-level system- don't worry though, it's nolonger linear topology)), Ares Rebellion (you have to save the antarctica)).

Wow O_o I love the Ranx and this sounds absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work! (And if there's anything I can do to help just ask, I'm not a real good modder but I can do dockscreens and time consuming things like that.)

You know, perhaps you could help out with dockscreens- not necessarily just yet though, I still have some stations to make.

Okay, I can't make 3D graphics but I could mod the ships for the graphics. And I actually made a mod giving the Ranx Dreadnought four Akan-30s to fend off close attacks. Great minds must think alike.

I'm working on ammo-less versions (though the player can't have them- the player can loot ammo and the normal version- the ammo-less devices are 'virtual devices' like the "oracus harass" power of the shrines)Stormhawk wrote:I think I may have used Mark I howitzers now that I think about it, didn't want them running out of ammo after all.

I've had a dreadnought run dry before... By the time I'm at the level of the ranx gunships, they get blasted away too fast to use up all their ammo.Atarlost wrote:A reasonable load of ammo can last for a long time. I've never seen a ranx ship go dry in default Transcendence and both have ammo using weapons.

I'd seriously consider not adding Akans to them anyhow. I don't know how much you've balance tested this stuff, but Kilotons are murder at range and Akans have a lot of knockback. If the cruiser shows up as hostile at the same level the dreadnaught does in default it's going to be murder against the shields available at that point. If you're making a virtual akan anyways you might consider removing the momentum.

Removing the momentum would kinda ruin the point IMO, isn't the whole point to knock them out to a range where the Kiloton can smash them to lots of pretty pieces?
