This ship essentially is a mini-command ship; it commands a flight of autonomous drones. Similar to the Dwarg master in that it acts as a commander, coordinating its subordinate ships, it is however substantially more advanced (and does not use zoanthrope pilots for the subordinate ships, as they are fully autonomous). The drones revert to a very basic AI if their commander is destroyed, and while not defecting to the killer as the zoanthropes will, they will ... simply bee-line on the closest target hostile to them. Regardless if it can totally kick their butts. (Normally, they will fly in formation led by the command ship, and it will make informed choices as to what to attack and what they should run from, ie, enemy stations or capships. It's more of an issue for the drones controlled by a station, given those are relayed direct orders to attack specific targets in the system, harassing enemy stations, disrupting enemy shipments, etc - very similar to the tactical-AI the CW Collective will be using. Those drones, if their station's carrier signal is cut off, will lose their standing orders and revert to the game's basic AI)
These ships can control up to 6 drones, the least of any domain command ship or station. Usually 3-4 is a more normal count. Drones, while relatively fragile, are well-armed.
Domain heavy gunships are equiped with a D32-Grenade launcher, which is compatible with all Ansabi grenades (and vice versa; it's a nearly perfect clone of the Ansabi version, though Domain versions of the grenades tend to be marginally cheaper and slightly inferior in range - though they are even lighter than the Ansabi grenades, which are already quite light. The D32 also cannot launch Ansabi bombs (Expensive, but very high yield ammo that use up little cargo space relative to their punch).
