This is the thread for the Official Ranx Extension.

I will be putting up some initial ideas in a few hours; despite being in firefox, Coral IE tab doesn't support internalized spell-checking, so I will have to go & type it up externally.

In the mean time, feel free to begin aimlessly discussing.

----- Actually, since I think it will be a few days before I get some stuff finalized w/ George, right now would be a good time to simply put in all of your suggestions & ideas, which I will take into consideration. -----

If there's anything more imposing-looking than the Ranx Fortress, please can it have at least 1 gun?

And if there's anything that shouts the word 'DOOOOOOOOM!!!!!' more than the Ranx Dreadnought.....uh....can it be like the *old* Ranx dreadnought. As in the "Comes out of nowhere and kills you" Dreadnought.

1. Non-ammo weapons on Dradnoughts. Preferably short-ranged.
2. Weapons on Ranx fortresses. Yes, I'm aware they used to have Kilo cannons. Maybe something more practical would be nice.
3. Can there be one or two ships per game of the extension that are like the old "comes out of nowhere and blows you up" style Dreadnought?


Mind you, given how.....gothic(?) looking...their fortresses are like.....what's their citidels and imperial palace gonna look like?

1) I decline to answer any balance questions until I can confer with atarlost; any responces I may give are likely to be changed as I make the mod.

3) At the moment, I can neither confirm nor deny this, but I can give you an emoticon. :D

At the moment, all I can say is that the citadel will be awesome. Mostly... because I havn't made it yet.

I should clarify one thing: I would like the Ranx expansion (as described in the Wiki) to be "compatible" both with the D&O campaign and Wolfy's TX2 (since so many of the concepts in the Ranx expansion started in TX2).

Digdug; those are just concept ideas; George & I will be working on fleshing out ideas later on, we only just figured out how we'd be designing the mod. :wink:

I put a few concept ideas that george had for ships he sent me in a pm, and I added a few suggestions to them of my own; I may have forgotten some.

Oh; to general users: please put your suggestions here in this thread as opposed to directly on the wiki; George or I will move them to the wiki as appropriate. (It makes discussion of these ideas much easier to do here than in a wiki format)

George & I made quite a bit of progress the last few days!

Check the wiki to see what we have so far; we're still looking for suggestions on a number of things, so post them here & I'll take a look at them later.
