I have a few quick suggestions:
» Change item mass to 0.
True, the item doesn’t take up much space, but better for what’s supposed to be a utility like this if it doesn’t take up any space at all.
» Make item virtual.
This will ensure you don’t accidentally jettison it.
» Replace “Consumable” attribute with “ID” attribute.
It isn’t actually consumable, and making it behave like an ID will keep it from getting melted by abandoned cargo crates full of acid.
I may have more suggestions after I’ve actually, you know, used it, but those struck me just by taking a quick peek at the XML. …I am such an unrepentant source-diver… ^.^;

Thanks for the feedback. I expected lots of things could receive comments, yet the ROM item was not one of them
I was amazed that a virtual item would show up in the 'use-item' list (maybe it should be reported as a bug, although it may serve as a feature).
Having it as a virtual item would also exclude it from the list of items-to-be-possibly-destroyed-by-a-cargo-crate-full-of-industrial-solvent.
Anyhow, thanks for the feedback, I'm hoping for more!
Cheers,
Pixelfck
