1 - C, I don't like it too way too much, but I also like it to have enough HP
2 - B, 9 tons for 40 hp? Thats unreasonable.
3 - B
4 - A, I'm more for strategy than brute force.
5 - A, Like I said, Strategy over brute force, but lower HP would change my strategy.

1. D
2. D
3. A (IIRC, AR has more/worse vulnerabilities)
4. C -- between patch spiders and my tendency to disengage whenever my shields are down, regen is nice but not essential, whereas having 45 extra HP entails a better chance of surviving if I find myself in too deep.
5. D
Would it be correct to infer that your question is also trying to gather info on what armors people believe are too *good* to buy for balance reasons etc?
Otherwise I don't understand having both 4b and 4c, and 5b,c and d.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Because i usually play as a freighter i don't really mind to install heavy armors, because my manouverability is already poor, i prefer to go with a though shell.
So my answers are:
1. D
2. D
3. A (and hope not to find any enemy with a blast weapon. Well tevlar would even be better, but i think that 5hp are better than a 15-20% less damage on kinetic and particle damageAdj vs polyceramic)
4. C
5. D
I would be very insterested however to try the level VI regenerating armor with only 20HP, i'm expecting crazy regen speed or very low damageAdj.

1. D
2. C
3. C
4. C (even if I don't have any ways of regening armor I tend replace armor with what I can find)

Crying is not a proper retort!
1) d - I generally play the freighter, and thus weight usually makes no difference, so I go with the highest HP one such as Holochroal.
2) d - Same as above, though I'd rather go with the above armor if I could. Though the weight is less uhh.. balanced(?) in this tier, as you get a two-thirds increase in HP from B to D, and a 100% increase in weight, so again I'd go with the above armor, unless it was really hard to get.
3) c - I think my experiences in the game have taught me that Tevlar is pretty good, though memory is kinda failing on all three so I can't really say for sure.
4) 'a' - As Charon said, strategy before strength, though I suppose it depends on how fast the regen is. If it's decent, I'd go with it, but if it's really slow then I'd go for c.
5) Probably 'd', but again it depends on how fast the regen is on 'a' - it would have to be really, really fast for me to go with it, due to the very low HP. I'd also keep in mind that even if it does regenerate quickly, that there's a lot that can take 20 HP off your armor easily, and no amount of regen is gonna help you there. So yeah, probably d.

1) D. Early armor is generally weak regardless of type so more HP, please!
2) D. Same as #1 above
3) Undetermined
4) A. If considering it is Duralloy and not powered armor
5) D. OK, I wimped out...give me the heavy HP!

1. D

3. Depends on how much credits I have and what enemies I expect. Usually I skip these armors
4. Hmm, difficult. It also depends what strengths and weaknesses they have. But Duralloy is one of my favourite ones, so I go for A.
5. Now I know I said I like Duralloy (regenerating I love it), but 20 hp is a bit too low, so I go for D.

weight doesn't matter. Regen isn't worth with hp hit. Advanced reactive with ablative is pretty nice and is the best of the three, but better armor is usually available by then.
EDIT: I play wolfen, so if the armor doesn't fit, I don't use it.

I won't buy anything over 10 tons since the wolfen can't use armor heavier than that.
1Don't the ships come pre-installed with level III armor? I just start buying at level IV

3? A or B... I know B is a heavy version of Level II armor
4C if it's under 10 tons
5D if it's under 10 tons

1. d - weight is negligible
2. c - good hp + medium weight
3. c - tevlar - I forgot but it seems ok
4. a - ok hp + regen is a plus
5. c - I'm betting 80 hp is too heavy and expensive. Will get later on though, when needed.
Just letting you know, I'm a sapphire user.
