Greetings.
Here is a part of my suggestion collection :)

Ther could be more storyline implemented INgame. More texts and storys to be read. So the (new) player gets an idea of how hostile the environment is he lives in. This could also be used to make people avoid certain stations and aliens initally, what is beneficial to their survival, and therefor fun. Getting to know something about the past of the transcendence makes a game more complex and interesting and give anticipation for comming implementions. This feature could be achieved by some new collectables like books or cds, that can display a text (I think description is too short). This could also be achieved by making scripted movies about some .. historical happenings. This videos can be played by a play button in cargo hold or bought as a service.

Btw can you tell me a convincing story what the elysium-System is purposed for - last updates says that the chance of getting orbs is reduced. I found only 2 in my last game, so Elysium can't ment to be real usable connection beetween early and late systems. Why are there connections to all systems ? Or are you just supposed to have a nice humming place for meditation ?

What do you think about the endless stream of spawns ?

What about modding wandering spawns which dont attack the player directly ?

few of things that I would like out of any storyline.

1. No walls of text. Yes I know many good games use this but I really don't want to read a book to get some storyline. Cut scenes or movies are a good way of showing the story. As are missions and events.

2. Varies, this game is meant to be played many times, having the same storyline would get boring after awhile.

3. Flexible, the game is hugely flexible on what the player or even random luck can do the storyline needs to take that into account. It is hard to make a storyline make sense about people in St. K when you allow the player to destroy every station in the system.

4. Do not explain everything. There should always be some unexplained parts of the game. You can give hints and conflicting rumors but I like it that we do not know what elysium is for.

The Elysium system is just a portal to multiple other system.

<SPOILER ALERT!>

You can get to it by using a jumpdrive over a stargate. The station needs something more. Maybe it should have something to do with Domina. You could get missions to any system from them. It could be a sub-storyline.

I agree with Betel, no walls of text. I despise really large amounts of text while I'm trying to play a game. Short and to-the-point explanations are the best for telling you how to do something, but movies and clips would be great for telling storyline of the past, and even of the future. Of course, any predictions of the future would change each time you watched it.

okay betel, I can comprehend your opinion. I didn't ment to force the player to a plot. I rather had the idea to give the player some information about things he may have to face. best example: Ares. They control their space past the commonwealth and you must pass them, so someone should not wonder to be attacked and prepear himself.
Although George has to invent more histroy of which some movies can be made of.

I found your idea about weapon advertising really cool ;) So don't get me wrong. :)

@bluesaberist
I feel very spoiled now but it would have lasted many years until I may have used a jumpdrive on a gate as I don't use them ... So if you always can get to Elysium, it IS the backward connection but now the gems have gone worthless ;)

plot is win.
Transcendence would work really well with interaction driven plot. (ie, the stations you dock with may have some plot advanceing characters onboard or events happening. It might be nice to be able to talk with a "friendly enemy soverien", ie, maybe one out of twenty enemy stations would not be hostile to you and talk to you, service your ship, etc.
